DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the second colourway of Shark's own MotoGP paddock livery, sharing the same carbon shell and wordmark graphic as its red-chrome sibling but built around a cooler anthracite-and-grey base with the red kept to a narrower accent band rather than a dominant diagonal. Like the other decor, it is not tied to a specific rider — it is Shark's own MotoGP-series identity, built on the identical Aeron GP FIM 2 platform described below.
Road homologation, underneath the racing graphic
Every decor here, this grey-and-red MotoGP colourway included, clears ECE 22.06 before any racing approval applies. Mandatory across the EU since January 2024, it replaced ECE 22.05 with a substantially tougher programme: eighteen strike points on the shell instead of five, multiple speeds per point rather than a single one, and a newly added angled strike against an abrasive anvil that twists and grazes the shell rather than dropping it straight.
FIM FRHPhe-02 on top of the road certificate
This shell is homologated twice: once under ECE 22.06 for the road, separately under FIM FRHPhe-02 for FIM-sanctioned racing, a pairing Shark's price data documents with the code 2206-FIM2 across all 78 rows of this range. FRHPhe-02 tightens the original FRHPhe racing standard in four concrete ways — new strike angles, more test points, stiffer structural demands, and a reworked visor lock built to resist opening in a crash — and it is already required in MotoGP, due to become mandatory across every official FIM competition from 2026.
Adaptive Aero System, the same on every decor
Whichever graphic sits on top, every Aeron GP FIM 2 shares the identical rear-mounted, patented Adaptive Aero System — a spoiler engineered to change shape rather than stay fixed. It responds to the rider's own build, to the extra bulk a leather suit's hump adds behind the helmet, and to riding position, tucked or upright.
The shell behind the livery
Like its red-chrome sibling, this decor rides on Shark's COVA carbon-aramid shell — roughly four-fifths carbon fibre — moulded in two sizes so smaller and larger heads aren't sharing one stretched shape. Four separate EPS density zones grade the liner's firmness across the shell rather than relying on a single foam grade throughout, and closure runs through a double-D ring, which resists working itself loose under load where a quick-release buckle might not.
What 1,480 g means over a race, not a minute
Shark's stated 1,480 g applies to the smaller of this two-shell design's sizes — the bigger shell, for the larger sizes, will run somewhat heavier for an identical build. Better to think of that number as neck load across a full race distance than as an isolated spec: extra mass compounds through the session rather than showing up in the first few corners.
Ventilation, engineered alongside the aero
Five intakes and seven extractors run on a Double Venturi effect that grew out of the same CFD development as the spoiler at the back of the shell. Airflow and aerodynamic stability were never separate problems here — vent placement was part of the same engineering pass as the spoiler, not an afterthought cut into a finished mould.
Field of view and visor hardware
A 220-degree lateral and 57-degree vertical field of view come from Optical class 1 glazing, mounted on a four-point anchor with side grip and locking pin. Tear-off ready from the factory. No Pinlock ships fitted — this visor relies on anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment instead — and the racing-tint range (dark smoke, chrome, gold, pink, silver) is marked for racing use only, with clear and TE35 the two tints approved for road use.
Safety kit fitted as standard
The EPS liner grades its firmness across four separate zones rather than one, and Shark's Emergency Remove System handles emergency cheek-pad extraction without moving an injured rider's neck. What this helmet does not have is a MIPS liner or equivalent rotational-impact system — absent from Shark's own documentation for this model, left out here rather than assumed.
The second MotoGP colourway
Like its red-chrome sibling, this decor is Shark's own MotoGP-branded graphic rather than a specific rider's replica livery — no name, no race number, just the series' own wordmark and paddock styling worked into a cooler anthracite-and-grey palette with the red kept to a narrower accent.
Price in context, not isolation
This decor sits at the top of a genuine three-tier Aeron ladder rather than standing alone. Road-only Aeron and Aeron GP models start that ladder. Aeron GP FIM, the previous FIM generation certified FRHPhe rather than FRHPhe-02, sits a step above. This decor's step above that predecessor pays for the stricter FIM #2 homologation covered earlier, the same shell and spoiler carried through underneath.

Wind noise, treated honestly
No reliable independent decibel reading exists for this model, so none appears here. What's actually fitted is a seal at the visor opening and a chin curtain at the base of the shell, both aimed at the gaps that cause most wind noise at speed. Built around an active spoiler and vents tuned for cooling rather than hush, this isn't sold as a quiet helmet, and this text doesn't claim it is.
Spare parts
The same shared collection naming Aeron, Aeron GP, Aeron GP FIM 1 and Aeron GP FIM 2 together confirms direct support for this exact model. On a helmet built for track use, that's worth knowing upfront: a torn or scratched visor is an order away, not a reason to buy a new lid.
Said plainly: what's missing
There's no MIPS or equivalent rotational-impact liner on this helmet. No Pinlock ships fitted as standard, with anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment on the visor covering that role instead. No internal sun visor is fitted. A 4-star SHARP score exists for a Shark model called "Aeron GP", but that's the separate, non-FIM road helmet sold at a different price — not this FIM2-certified model — and it isn't quoted here as if it were the same helmet. No trustworthy independent wind-noise figure exists for this model either.
