Was ein offener Helm leistet — und was nicht
🔵 Ein Demi-Jet ist die kürzeste Bauform unter den offenen Helmen — er endet oberhalb der Ohren und deckt weniger ab als ein klassischer Jet. Dafür ist er leichter, luftiger und im Stadtverkehr bequemer.
🔵 Kinnschutz gibt es in keiner Konfiguration, und eine Bewertung existiert nicht.
Zur Icarus-Grafik in Rot / Dunkelblau
Rot und Blau nebeneinander ist eine Kombination, die auf Distanz gut funktioniert, weil beide Töne kräftig sind und sich gegenseitig Kante geben. Aus der Nähe liest man zwei Farben, aus dreißig Metern ein bewegtes, buntes Objekt — und genau das ist im Verkehr die nützlichere Eigenschaft. Ein Helm muss nicht als Grafik erkannt werden, er muss sich vom Hintergrund lösen. 🟢 Rot leistet dabei den größeren Teil: Es ist eine Warmfarbe und behält beim Übergang zur Dämmerung mehr wahrgenommene Helligkeit als kühle Töne, weil das Auge dabei seine Empfindlichkeit verschiebt. 🔵 Zwei Vorbehalte. Rot verliert unter dauernder UV-Last als erstes an Sättigung; bei zwei kräftigen Tönen fällt das über die Jahre als Ungleichgewicht auf. Und Dunkelblau verliert bei Dämmerung zusätzlich — abends trägt vor allem das Rot.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
🟢 Sieben Größen von XS bis 3XL auf einer HIRP-Schale: Der Cosmo SV deckt damit einen Kopfumfang von 53 bis 66 Zentimeter ab — bei einem Demi-Jet eine ungewöhnlich breite Staffelung.
Zugelassen ist er nach ECE 22.06 und DOT.
MT-ESP — eine vollflächige Sonnenblende auf einem Jet
🟢 Extended Sunvisor Protection heißt die Entwicklung, aus der die Blende stammt, und der Name beschreibt genau das, worum es geht: mehr abgedeckte Fläche als bei der üblichen Bauform.
🔵 Zur Pflege: einweichen statt wischen; die Beschichtung ist weicher als der Lack der Schale.
Das MT-V-37-Visier und der patentierte MT-QVSS
🟢 Bei einem Demi-Jet beschlägt das Visier seltener als bei einem geschlossenen Helm: Die Atemluft entweicht nach unten ins Freie, statt sich unter dem Kinnbügel zu sammeln. Das entschärft die fehlende Pinlock-Option deutlich.
🔵 Ganz ausgeschlossen ist Beschlag damit nicht — bei Kälte und Regen bleibt ein Spalt Luft die Lösung.
Aktive Belüftung und der abnehmbare Heckdeflektor
🔵 Was ein offener Helm im Winter bedeutet, sagen wir offen: Er ist kalt. Der abnehmbare Heckdeflektor hilft dabei ein wenig, aber er ersetzt keinen geschlossenen Helm.
🟢 Im Sommer arbeitet dieselbe Konstruktion in die andere Richtung — dann nimmt man ihn ab.
Der MT-Micrometric+-Verschluss
🟢 Prüfen Sie den Sitz nach den ersten Wochen erneut: Ein neues Futter setzt sich, und der Riemen muss dann nachgezogen werden. Beim MT-Micrometric+ ist das eine Sache von Sekunden.
Die Verankerung greift dabei immer mit mindestens zwei Zähnen.
Innenfutter, Passform und Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Für die Feinabstimmung der Passform gibt es Wangenpolster als Ersatzteil — der übliche Weg, wenn der Helm im Kopfbereich sitzt, an den Wangen aber zu locker oder zu straff ist.
Serienmäßig ist ein vollständig herausnehmbares, waschbares Futter verbaut.
🟢 Ein herstellereigenes System hat einen Vorteil: Passform und Bedienung sind aufeinander abgestimmt — und beim Cosmo SV war es bei der Zulassungsprüfung sogar montiert.
🔵 Der Nachteil ist die Bindung, und dass das Gerät separat gekauft werden muss.
Die Gewichtsangabe — und die ehrliche Liste
🔵🔵 Eine Abweichung von rund 150 Gramm zwischen Herstellerangabe und Händlerangaben ist zu groß, um sie zu ignorieren — und zu wenig belegt, um sie aufzulösen. Wir nennen beide und verwenden die belegbare.
🟢 Das ist die einzige Stelle, an der die Datenlage zu diesem Helm unklar ist.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
🔵 Die ehrliche Einordnung: Der Cosmo SV ist ein sehr gut ausgestatteter offener Helm — und bleibt ein offener Helm. Die Ausstattung ändert nichts daran, dass Kinn und Kiefer frei liegen.
🟢 Wer das akzeptiert, bekommt hier den vollständigsten Demi-Jet im MT-Programm.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Die Sonnenblende ist ein Verschleißteil wie das Visier: Sie zerkratzt, und dann sieht man es im Gegenlicht. Sie ist einzeln nachbestellbar — ebenso Visier, Futter, Wangenpolster, Lüftungsteile und Heckdeflektor.
🔵 Zum Austausch des Helms: nach etwa fünf Jahren.
