Was ein offener Helm leistet — und was nicht
Was ein offener Helm gut kann: Er lässt Sie sehen und hören, was um Sie herum passiert, er wird im Stadtverkehr nicht heiß, und er lässt sich in Sekunden auf- und absetzen. Für kurze Strecken bei niedrigem Tempo ist das ein echter Gewinn an Alltagstauglichkeit.
🔵 Was er nicht kann: das Gesicht schützen. Ein Kinnbügel ist nicht vorhanden, und keine Ausstattung ersetzt ihn.
Zum matten Schwarz
Matt streut das Licht, statt es zu spiegeln: Sie sehen die Silhouette, nicht die Rundung. Wo die glänzende Fassung die Wölbung über Spitzlichter zeigt, zeigt die matte den Umriss — der Demi-Jet wirkt dadurch flacher und moderner. Auf einem Roller oder einer Maschine in gedeckten Farben ist das die Fassung, die nicht mit dem Rest konkurriert. 🔵 Der Nachteil steckt in der Pflege, und er ist bei Matt deutlich größer als bei Glanz. Eine matte Oberfläche hat eine mikroskopisch raue Struktur, in der sich Insektenreste, Staub und Straßenfilm festsetzen; wegpolieren ist keine Option, weil Polieren die Struktur glättet und dann eine glänzende Stelle hinterlässt, die sich nicht mehr angleichen lässt. Einweichen, sanft abnehmen, keine Politur, keine Wachse. 🔵 Zur Sichtbarkeit gilt dasselbe wie bei der glänzenden Fassung: Bei einem Helm ohne Kinnschutz übernehmen Jacke, Warnweste und Reflexmaterial die Aufgabe, die eine dunkle Schale nicht leisten kann.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
🟢 HIRP steht für High Impact Resistant Polymer. Die Schale verformt sich unter Schlag, verteilt die Last und gibt sie verzögert an den EPS-Kern darunter weiter — dasselbe Prinzip wie bei Faserverbund, mit anderem Materialverhalten und niedrigerem Preis.
Zugelassen ist der Cosmo SV nach ECE 22.06 und DOT.
MT-ESP — eine vollflächige Sonnenblende auf einem Jet
🟢 Eine innenliegende Blende hat gegenüber einem getönten Visier zwei Vorteile: Sie geht nicht verloren, und sie lässt sich im Fahren bedienen. Am Tunneleingang muss man nicht anhalten.
Beim Cosmo SV ist sie vollflächig ausgeführt — MT-ESP.
Das MT-V-37-Visier und der patentierte MT-QVSS
🟢 Ein verlängertes Visier ist bei einem Demi-Jet die sinnvollere Bauform: Es schützt nicht nur die Augen, sondern einen größeren Teil des Gesichts gegen Wind, Regen und Insekten.
🔵 Es ersetzt keinen Kinnschutz — es ist Wetterschutz. Und eine Pinlock-Option gibt es dafür nicht.
Aktive Belüftung und der abnehmbare Heckdeflektor
🟢 Dass ein Hersteller ein Bauteil mitliefert, mit dem man Durchzug gegen Geräusch abstimmen kann, ist selten. Beim Cosmo SV ist es der Heckdeflektor — im Sommer ab, im Winter dran.
Die Belüftung selbst arbeitet über Einlässe vorn und einen Auslass im Heck.
Der MT-Micrometric+-Verschluss
Eine mikrometrische Ratsche erlaubt feinere Abstufungen als ein Doppel-D-Ring und lässt sich mit Handschuhen bedienen. 🟢 Beim Cosmo SV kommt die garantierte Zwei-Zahn-Verankerung dazu.
Praktisch heißt das: Sie können den Riemen über T-Shirt wie über Halstuch jeweils richtig ziehen.
Innenfutter, Passform und Interkom-Vorbereitung
Zur Pflege: von Hand waschen, ein paar Mal pro Saison. Maschinenwäsche verformt die Schaumeinlagen, ein Trockner zerstört sie — das ist der häufigste Grund, warum ein Futter vorzeitig ausleiert und der Helm zu locker sitzt.
🟢 Beim Cosmo SV lässt es sich komplett herausnehmen.
🔵 Was der Helm mitbringt, ist die Vorbereitung — nicht die Elektronik. Das MT-Rider Sync ist ein separater Kauf.
🟢 Für den Stadtverkehr, wo ein Headset meist für Navigationsansagen genutzt wird, reicht ein einfaches System vollkommen aus.
Die Gewichtsangabe — und die ehrliche Liste
🔵 Für einen Demi-Jet wären 1,5 kg viel und 1350 g normal. Genau deshalb steht die Unklarheit hier: Wer nach Gewicht kauft, sollte wissen, dass sich die Angaben widersprechen.
🟢 Wir verwenden die Herstellerzahl, weil sie die einzige belegbare ist.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
🟢 MT-Helmets fertigt in Spanien. Der Cosmo SV ist innerhalb des Programms der bestausgestattete offene Helm — mit zwei Zulassungen, vollflächiger Blende und einer aktiven Belüftung, die sich abstimmen lässt.
🔵 Was fehlt, ist eine Antibeschlaglösung fürs Visier.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Dass die Lüftungsteile und der Heckdeflektor einzeln erhältlich sind, ist mehr wert, als es klingt: Anbauteile an der Schalenaußenseite brechen häufiger ab als alles andere — beim Umkippen, beim Transport, beim Absetzen auf dem Tank.
🔵 Zum Helm selbst: nach etwa fünf Jahren ersetzen.
