Design, Finish und Tradition
Arai baut seit Jahrzehnten Helme, die Rennen gewinnen, und der RX-7V Evo stellt den aktuellen Höhepunkt dieser Tradition dar. Was den Spectre Purple von seinen Geschwistermodellen unterscheidet, ist das Finish selbst – keine flache oder einfarbige Lackierung, sondern ein changierender, schillernder Farbton, der je nach Lichteinfall und Geschwindigkeit seinen Charakter ändert. Es ist die Art von Detail, die einen Fahrer verrät, der sowohl Leistung als auch Auftritt ernst nimmt.
Die Außenschale folgt der langjährigen Philosophie von Arai: ein glattes, rundes Profil ohne scharfe Kanten oder Vorsprünge. Das ist nicht nur Ästhetik. Die abgerundete Form erlaubt es dem Helm, bei einem Sturz über den Untergrund zu gleiten, statt sich zu verhaken, wodurch Aufprallenergie gleichmäßiger verteilt und die auf das Gehirn übertragenen Rotationskräfte reduziert werden. Jede Rundung hat einen Zweck.
Leistung und Schutz
Um ECE 22.06 zu erfüllen, müssen Helme anspruchsvollere Schrägaufprall-Tests bestehen als nach dem vorherigen Standard ECE 22.05, wobei besonderer Wert auf die Beherrschung von Rotationsbeschleunigungskräften gelegt wird. Der RX-7V Evo wurde von Grund auf entwickelt, um diese Kriterien zu erfüllen und dabei die aerodynamische Stabilität zu bewahren, die ihn auch bei Rennstreckentempo wirklich alltagstauglich macht. Bei hoher Geschwindigkeit erzeugt das Schalenprofil minimalen Auftrieb und bleibt satt auf der Straße, was die Nackenermüdung bei längeren Etappen reduziert.
Die Glasfaser-Verbundkonstruktion bringt Steifigkeit und kontrollierte Energieaufnahme ins Gleichgewicht. Sie ist nicht das leichteste verfügbare Schalenmaterial, bietet aber die progressiven Verformungseigenschaften, die die Ingenieure von Arai über Generationen der Motorsportentwicklung hinweg verfeinert haben, bei einem Gewicht von ca. 1.550 g ± 50 g in einer für diese Baureihe typischen Größe.
Sicht und Visiersystem
Das VAS MAX Vision Visier ist serienmäßig verbaut und bietet ein breiteres peripheres Sichtfeld als herkömmliche Visierkonstruktionen. Der Mechanismus erlaubt einen schnellen, werkzeuglosen Wechsel in der Boxengasse oder am Straßenrand. Der mitgelieferte Pinlock-Einsatz rastet in den dafür vorgesehenen Aufnahmen am Visier ein und erzeugt einen isolierenden Luftspalt, der Beschlagen bei Kälte oder Nässe nahezu ausschließt. Ob beim Pendeln im herbstlichen Nieselregen oder bei kühlen Morgen-Trainingseinheiten – die klare Sicht bleibt konstant erhalten.
Innenkomfort
Trotz seiner Renn-Herkunft ist der RX-7V Evo für dauerhaftes Tragen ausgelegt. Das Eco Pure Innenfutter ist hautfreundlich weich, vollständig herausnehmbar und maschinenwaschbar. Die Wangenpolster wurden gegenüber der Vorgängergeneration neu positioniert, für eine engere, sicherere Rennpassform. Das Kinnpolster und der Atemabweiser – beide im Lieferumfang enthalten – reduzieren Windgeräusche und das Eindringen kalter Luft bei niedrigeren Geschwindigkeiten. Zu beachten ist, dass die eng anliegende Renngeometrie dieses Helms ihn für Brillenträger weniger geeignet macht; wer eine Brille tragen möchte, sollte eine eher straßenorientierte Passform eines anderen Modells in Betracht ziehen.
