DescriptionThe whole story▼
Silicium 2 in white and black is the fourth and last decor in this range without a manufacturer photograph at build time -- Shark's price list names the colour "Carbon White Black," and that is the description this listing works from, not a picture. Everything technical about it is identical to the rest of the range: the same carbon-fibreglass Sport-GT shell under a graphic that has not yet had its product images published.
The road certificate: ECE 22.06
Fourth decor without a photograph, same certificate as the rest: UNECE R 22-06. Since 22.05 was retired, testing covers more points on the shell, several speeds per point, with a rotational-force reading added that the old standard simply did not run.
Shell material: fibreglass and carbon, moulded twice
Shark's spec sheet names this shell "Fibre": fiberglass combined with carbon fibre rather than a solid carbon-aramid weave, cast in two separate shell sizes over a foam core that steps through several firmness grades. Against the plain-fibreglass Spartan GT Pro this buys a real, if modest, weight and stiffness advantage.
1,465 grams over the course of a ride
Shark's smaller-shell figure sits at 1,465 g; the bigger sizes ride on a second, larger mould and weigh a little more as a result. That number is not really about the helmet sitting still -- it is about what builds up in the neck and shoulders across a full riding day, gradually rather than all at once.
Ventilation with a real closed position
Shark's double-Venturi system pulls air through three front intakes and out through two rear extractors, built to keep working below motorway speed rather than only above it. Visordown's independent review confirms the chin-bar vents and rear exhaust ports genuinely close, letting this shell go wide open for summer heat or locked down for winter cold -- rated decent rather than best-in-class.
Visor hardware, shared with the RS platform
The Spartan RS, Spartan RS Carbon and this helmet all share the VZ300 visor. Glazing meets optical class 1, tapering 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm, closed via a central grip and lock rather than a side catch, and comes with a clear Pinlock 120 insert already mounted. Iridium blue, pink and red suit daytime roads; smoke, silver and rainbow remain track-only.
Usability details
One external slider drops the UV380 anti-fog sun visor, gloved hand and all. The mount comes free tool-free, glasses arms fit into a cut groove in the shell, and Shark lists Sharktooth and SENA compatibility for this model.
What is fitted for protection
Firmness-graded EPS handles the impact-absorbing work, and the strap closes with a double-D ring. A first responder can pull the cheek pads free through Shark's own Emergency Release hardware without twisting an injured rider's neck -- functionally an EQRS whatever it is called. MIPS is not mentioned anywhere in Shark's documentation for this helmet, and none is claimed here.
Interior
ALVEOTECH antimicrobial fabric lines the shell, cut into 3D morphological cheek pads per Shark's own collection description. Independent review confirms the interior comes apart for washing -- pads, neck roll, skull cap. Six sizes, XS to XXL, split across the two shell sizes used in the range.
On the colour, and on the missing photograph
"Carbon White Black" is Shark's own description of this Silicium 2 colourway, used here exactly as given, without a photograph to check it against -- none had been supplied for this colour code at build time. It is created and sold with zero product media rather than a stand-in image from a different colourway, and the colour claim rests on the supplier's own wording alone. Riders comparing colour codes across this range should treat any listing without a photograph the same way -- read the words, not an assumed image -- since a supplier description and a rendered photo do not always land on exactly the same shade once a batch actually ships. Buyers who care about matching a specific white shade to other kit on the bike should ask Shark or a dealer for confirmation before ordering, rather than relying on this description alone.
Its position on the Spartan price ladder
Shark's own price data draws four real steps: Spartan RS Fibre at the entry point, Spartan RS Carbon above it, the non-carbon Spartan GT Pro with Sport-GT comfort but no carbon shell, and Spartan GT Pro Carbon at the top. This decor sits in the middle of that top step, the same tier as the graphic Mekarium finishes.

Wind noise: nothing invented
No trustworthy independent decibel reading exists for this helmet, so none is stated here. BikeSocial credits the 22-06 generation's tighter, elasticated neck roll with reducing wind noise, at the cost of a slightly harder helmet to don; Visordown separately describes the wind noise in normal riding as kept to a relative minimum. Both remain editorial impressions, not measured data.
Spare parts
Shark's own replacement-visor page covers the RS and GT Pro together, and the Range Book confirms this VZ300 part number spans three Spartan builds rather than one. A worn visor is replaceable rather than a reason for a new helmet.
What is missing, stated directly
No product photograph exists for this colourway at build time, and none has been substituted from a different code -- it is offered with zero media rather than a misleading stand-in. No MIPS is fitted. SHARP's August-2021, 4-star result names a separate, older Shark helmet, with no "Pro" in that listing.
