White with blue is the most legible Globe — two values far enough apart to stay readable at motorway distance rather than dissolving into texture, and the version that keeps most of a pale shell's conspicuity advantage.

Three SHARP stars — and the 50 % you should know about

The face-guard figure deserves a paragraph of its own. 50 % means that in half of SHARP's impact tests the chin bar stayed fully locked, and in the other half it did not.

🔵 For comparison, the best flip-ups on the market manage over 90 %. The X.LIFETOUR's P/J homologation means it is certified for use with the chin bar open, which limits the consequence — but does not eliminate it.

About the Globe White Blue graphic

Graphics on a flip-up have a harder job than on a fixed full-face, because the chin-bar seam runs across the shell and interrupts anything drawn over it. Globe works by keeping its elements in large blocked areas that respect that line rather than crossing it awkwardly, which is why it still reads as one design with the chin bar closed and raised. In white and blue it also stays conspicuous, which on a touring helmet matters more than on a commuting one. 🔵 The white areas show insect strike sooner than the blue ones, so the helmet weathers unevenly between washes.

P/J homologation and the Super Locker chin bar

Corrosion resistance in the closure hardware is not a marketing point on a touring helmet — salt, rain and years are what kill a chin-bar mechanism, and a seized pivot on a flip-up is the end of the helmet.

🔵 Nexx uses stainless steel and special aluminium throughout the closure, with a Super Locker pivot that locks in both positions.

The X-Matrix2 shell

🔵 The decision that splits this range is the shell. This is the X-Matrix2 version: fibreglass multi-composite, around 1800 g, and roughly 80 € less than the carbon equivalent.

Everything else — P/J homologation, Silent Travel Seal, X-Sensus Vision, F.R.S., X-COM3 provision — is identical between the two.

96 decibels — the Silent Travel Seal

🔵 A quiet helmet is usually a warm one, because the same insulation does both jobs. That is worth knowing before a summer tour: the X.LIFETOUR's acoustic package is comprehensive, and comprehensive insulation holds heat at low speed.

The measured noise result was 96 dB at 130 km/h, scored 5/5.

X-Sensus Vision, X-SWIFT and two visors

Fogging is decided at low speed — junctions, traffic, waiting at a border — where there is no airflow to clear a visor. The fitted Pinlock 70 MaxVision lens covers the full width of the aperture rather than leaving a clear border top and bottom.

🔵 It is a consumable: the silicone seal loses grip and the surface clouds after a few seasons.

Two closable intakes and two air chambers

The Air Cumbs crown pad opens a fresh-air chamber between the EPS and the padding, so incoming air has somewhere to travel rather than being absorbed immediately by the lining.

It works in series with the Mid Airflow Chamber rather than duplicating it — two internal air paths above your head.

Morpho-Fit interior and F.R.S.

The multi-channel ventilation is built into the liner itself rather than relying on the shell alone — channels moulded through the padding give incoming air a path to your scalp instead of being absorbed by the fabric.

🔵 The fabric is X-Mart Dry, which dries roughly twice as fast as ordinary cotton — useful between consecutive touring days.

Around 1.8 kilograms, and the rest of the honest list

Two outer shell sizes rather than three means the weight you receive varies less across sizes than on a three-shell helmet — but it also means the fit at the size boundaries is less precise.

🔵 Claimed weight is around 1800 g ±50, and SHARP's measurement of 1.8 kg supports it.

Where it sits in Nexx's range

🔵 If an independent safety rating is part of your decision, this is the only Nexx helmet that has one: 3 SHARP stars, April 2026. Every other model in the range — X.TR, X.WST3, X.RALLY, X.WED3, Y.100R — is untested.

Three stars is mid-table. It is also more evidence than the rest of the range offers.

Comms, cameras and spare parts

🔵 Check comms fit before buying the comms. X-COM3 is designed into this shell; a third-party unit will work but will not use the cable channels, battery recess or microphone position — and on a helmet whose selling point is 96 dB, a clamped-on unit undoes part of what you paid for.

Bluetooth 5; the system is a separate purchase.
