DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the most visible X.LIFETOUR in the range: fluorescent yellow on the carbon shell, worked against grey. On a touring helmet ridden long distances in mixed weather, that is a specification rather than a preference.
Three SHARP stars — and the 50 % you should know about
🔵 If you are cross-shopping flip-up touring helmets, the two numbers that matter are the star rating and the face-guard lock percentage. The X.LIFETOUR's are 3 stars and 50 %.
Both are from SHARP's April 2026 test, and both are on this page because you should have them before deciding rather than afterwards.
About the Pro Mile Neon Grey graphic
Fluorescent pigments convert ultraviolet into visible light, which is why they appear to glow rather than merely to be bright — and why they keep working in exactly the conditions where ordinary colours fail: overcast, dusk, rain, and the flat grey of a European motorway in winter. Touring means more of those conditions than commuting does. Against a grey ground it stays legible without the helmet looking like workwear. 🔵 The trade is durability: fluorescent fades faster than any other pigment under sustained sun, and no care regime stops it entirely.
P/J homologation and the Super Locker chin bar
🔵 A flip-up carries roughly 150–250 g more than a fixed full-face of the same class, all of it in the hinge, the seal and the reinforcement around them. That is the cost of the convenience, and it is unavoidable.
What you get for it: legal open riding under P/J homologation, and a Super Locker pivot in stainless steel and aluminium.
The X-PRO Carbon 3K shell
Four market homologations apply to both shells: ECE 22-06 P/J, DOT FMVSS 218, CCC GB811:2022 and NBR7471:2015. Carbon is a weight decision rather than a certification one.
🔵 The SHARP 3-star rating is recorded for the X.LIFETOUR model, on an example weighing 1.8 kg.
96 decibels — the Silent Travel Seal
🔵 Do not compare decibel figures across publications. Method, speed, motorcycle and screen all change the number, and there is no standard for helmet noise testing.
The X.LIFETOUR's 96 dB and 5/5 score come from one independent road test — where it placed ahead of every other Nexx helmet the same reviewer measured, several of which sat at 102–103 dB.
X-Sensus Vision, X-SWIFT and two visors
🔵 A note on tinted visors and the law. Fixed dark visors are not road-legal at night or in poor visibility in most European countries, and the rules differ between them. On this helmet the question largely disappears — the internal sun visor drops behind a clear outer visor and retracts instantly.
Both supplied visors are clear, and one carries a Pinlock 70 MaxVision lens.
Two closable intakes and two air chambers
The intakes are integrated into the shell's shaping rather than bolted on, which keeps the profile smooth — and a smooth profile is part of why this helmet measured 96 dB rather than 103.
🔵 Both close completely. Two rear exhausts and the Mid Airflow Chamber move the air through.
Morpho-Fit interior and F.R.S.
Everything that touches skin comes out: cheek pads through the F.R.S. mechanism, the Morpho-Fit crown liner, the neck roll and the chin-strap covers. All of it is X-Mart Dry — seamless, 3D-shaped and fast-drying.
🔵 Retention is a metal micrometric ratchet with stainless steel and aluminium components throughout.
1750 claimed, 1860 measured
🔵 The full honest list. Heavy: 1860 g measured against a 1750 g claim. A 3-star SHARP rating rather than a higher one. The face guard fully locked in only 50 % of SHARP's impacts. Two outer shell sizes rather than three.
Against that: 96 dB measured and a 5/5 noise score, P/J homologation, four market approvals, two visors and a fitted Pinlock lens.
Where it sits in Nexx's range
🔵 If your riding includes unpaved surfaces, look at the X.LIFECOUNTRY instead — same platform, plus a removable adjustable peak with a screwless extensor.
It is heavier and noisier for it. For pure road touring, the X.LIFETOUR is the better tool and the quieter one.
Comms, cameras and spare parts
The serviceable parts list on this helmet is long: both visors, Pinlock 70 lenses, cheek pads, the Morpho-Fit liner, neck roll, chin-strap covers, wind deflector, breath guard and the internal sun visor.
🔵 Between them they cover everything except the shell, the EPS and the chin-bar mechanism.
