Blue with red on the carbon shell is the Pro Mile with the widest value range, and the one that stays legible longest as the light drops — useful on a helmet built for long days that end after dark.

Three SHARP stars — and the 50 % you should know about

🔵 One caveat applies to every SHARP rating, including this one: the stars describe the helmet, not the fit. A three-star helmet that is loose on your head will not perform as it did in the laboratory, because it moves.

SHARP's result for the X.LIFETOUR, from April 2026, is 3 out of 5, with the face guard locked in 50 % of impacts.

About the Pro Mile Blue Red graphic

A deep blue ground with a saturated red accent is doing two jobs at once: the blue absorbs the road film and insect strike that make a bright helmet look neglected over a touring week, while the red keeps the helmet legible in the conditions where dark colours disappear. That combination is more useful on a helmet ridden year-round than either extreme would be. 🔵 Red pigment fades faster than most under sustained UV. The graphic is printed and cannot be touched in after a stone strike, unlike a solid colour.

P/J homologation and the Super Locker chin bar

🔵 Practise the one-handed open before you need it. The release sits under the chin bar, it has a safety catch, and finding it in winter gloves for the first time at a toll booth is not ideal.

The mechanism is the Super Locker pivot, and the helmet is P/J homologated for use in both positions.

The X-PRO Carbon 3K shell

🔵 Carbon buys only 50 g here, because a flip-up's mass is dominated by the hinge, the seal and the chin-bar reinforcement rather than by the shell. That is a much smaller saving than carbon buys on a fixed full-face.

Whether it is worth the extra money is a fair question to ask before choosing.

96 decibels — the Silent Travel Seal

Three separate systems work on noise here: the Silent Travel Seal at the visor and chin closure, the chin vortex generators ahead of the airflow, and anti-noise cheek pads and neck roll at the base of the helmet.

🔵 The measured outcome was 96 dB at 130 km/h — scored 5/5, and described as class-leading.

X-Sensus Vision, X-SWIFT and two visors

X-SWIFT is the tool-free quick-release: no screws, no base plates to align, nothing to drop at the roadside. On a helmet supplied with two visors, that is what makes the second one worth carrying.

🔵 The eye port is 15 % larger than the standard requires, and an internal sun visor sits behind the outer one.

Two closable intakes and two air chambers

Airflow only happens if there is somewhere lower in pressure for the air to go, and the rear exhausts are positioned to give the Mid Airflow Chamber something to pull against rather than merely venting.

Morpho-Fit interior and F.R.S.

🔵 The anti-noise cheek pads and neck roll are acoustic components, not just padding. They steer wind away from the base of the helmet, and they are a meaningful part of why this helmet measured 96 dB.

Keep that in mind when replacing them — fit Nexx's own rather than a generic equivalent.

1750 claimed, 1860 measured

🔵 The weight claim is worth reading carefully. Nexx quotes 1750 g for the carbon shell; an independent scale reading of a size M returned 1860 g. That is a 110 g gap, and 1860 g is a heavy helmet by any measure.

Plan around the measured figure rather than the claim.

Where it sits in Nexx's range

🔵 A useful way to place this helmet: it is the quietest thing Nexx makes and the only one independently rated, at a price well below the German and Japanese flip-ups it competes with acoustically.

What it gives up to them is weight and star rating — 1.8 kg and 3 stars respectively.

Comms, cameras and spare parts

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor, the chin-bar mechanism and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06 P/J — and part of what SHARP tested.
