Pure is the plain version of the Streetfighter SV S and the cheapest at 115 €. Matt black is the finish that makes a four-configuration helmet look like one deliberate object rather than a kit of parts.

Four helmets in one shell

MT calls this a 4-in-1 helmet, and the description is literal: run it as a streetfighter with the chin guard and visor fitted, as a streetfighter without the visor, as a jet with the visor only, or as a plain open-face with both removed.

🔵 Both the chin guard and the visor come off without tools. That is what makes it four helmets and, as the next section explains, what limits what it can claim.

The removable chin guard — what it is approved to do

🔵 The most important paragraph on this page. MT documents ECE 22.06 and DOT approval for this helmet. It does not publish a P/J dual homologation — the marking that certifies a chin bar as protective in both the closed and the open position.

Do not assume the removable chin guard performs like the fixed chin bar of a full-face. Read the approval label on the chin strap and treat the guard as wind and weather protection unless that label says otherwise.

About the matt black finish

A convertible helmet carries more visible hardware than any other type: a chin guard that detaches, a visor that detaches, a sun shield, vent covers and a camera mount. Gloss puts a bright highlight along every join and every edge of that, which reads as clutter; matt shows the outline instead and lets the shape hold together. It matters more here than on a conventional helmet because you will be looking at this thing in four different states, and it should look intentional in all of them. There is a practical argument alongside. A helmet you reconfigure gets handled constantly — chin guard off, visor off, caps in, back again — and a flat finish has no clear coat for those handling marks to catch in. 🔵 Two things to weigh. It is the least conspicuous version in the range on a helmet whose whole point is urban use, where being seen is the single most valuable safety property. And matt is washed rather than polished: abrasive polish leaves a permanent shiny patch that cannot be undone.

HIRP and about 1.5 kilograms

The shell is HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer — injection-moulded over a polystyrene liner, and MT quotes around 1.5 kg.

🔵 That is heavier than the brand's jets and lighter than most modular helmets, which is roughly where a convertible with this much removable hardware should sit.

Sun shield and outer visor

The integrated retractable sun visor is what the „SV" stands for, and on a helmet you reconfigure constantly it is the one optical feature that works in all four states.

🔵 The outer visor is removable and replacement visors in other colours are sold separately — the helmet ships with the clear one fitted.

Intakes, exhausts and the vent covers in the box

Ventilation is front and top intakes with rear exhausts, and MT supplies vent covers in the box so the openings can be closed when the weather turns.

🔵 That is a genuinely useful inclusion on a year-round helmet, and it is the kind of accessory most manufacturers sell separately.

The MT-MDTC closure

Retention is MT-MDTC — a micrometric closure with a double-teeth engagement, which is what makes the lock feel positive rather than approximate.

🔵 Check the adjustment every few months. A ratchet has a set position that can drift, and the helmet should be snug enough that it cannot be rolled forward off your head.

Interior, fit and washing

MT describes the interior as renewed for this model, and it is fully removable and washable — the single most useful maintenance feature on a helmet worn daily.

🔵 Sizes run XS to XXL. Measure around the widest part of your head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and try the size the chart gives you.

SportCam mount and intercom provision

A SportCam mount is included as standard — not sold separately — and the helmet is Bluetooth intercom compatible.

🔵 The camera and the intercom themselves are separate purchases. What MT supplies is the mount and the provision, which is more than most manufacturers include at this price.

Where it sits in MT's range

The Streetfighter SV S is MT's most convertible helmet and its most expensive urban one. Above it sit the full-face road helmets; below it, the jets.

🔵 If you want a genuine full-face for less money, MT's Thunder 4 SV is one — with a fixed chin bar, a Pinlock-ready visor and no join across the front.

When something wears out

Everything on this helmet that wears is available separately: the chin guard, the visor, the sun shield, the vent covers, cheek pads and the complete lining.

🔵 What cannot be replaced is a crushed EPS liner. After a real impact the helmet is finished, however it looks from outside.
