DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Knox Oulton MK2 in Black/Red is a sport leather glove that wears its heritage proudly — refined through a generation of rider feedback into a second-generation design that pairs a striking two-tone finish with genuine race-derived protection. For riders who want the look and feel of a competition glove without leaving the road behind, this is where that search ends.
Key Features
- CE EN 13594 certified sport motorcycle glove built for demanding road use
- Knox Scaphoid Protection System (SPS) guards the vulnerable heel of the hand in a slide
- New two-piece TPU knuckle protector with integrated air channels for ventilation and impact management
- Slim LDPE wrist cuff with integrated Micro-Lock closure for a precise, rattle-free fit
- Goatskin construction delivers exceptional abrasion resistance with a supple, broken-in feel from the first ride
- Amara silicone-grip palm panel for confident throttle and lever feedback, perforated fingers for airflow
Design, Finish and Heritage
Knox has been engineering protective motorcycle gloves since 1981, and the Oulton MK2 represents the marque at its most refined. The Black/Red colourway gives this generation of the Oulton a more aggressive character than its Black/White sibling — the deep red accent trims catch the light and signal intent without crossing into gaudy territory. Every design decision on the MK2 revision was driven by ergonomics: the pre-curved finger construction reduces fatigue, stretch-accordion panels across the knuckles allow full hand closure around the bars, and the slimmed-down wrist cuff keeps bulk to a minimum so jacket sleeves interface cleanly.
Protection Architecture
Beneath the clean exterior, the Oulton MK2 runs a layered protection system that punches well above its price point. The Knox Scaphoid Protection System — a reinforced palm slider positioned directly over the scaphoid bone — addresses one of the most common and debilitating injuries in a road-speed fall. The redesigned two-piece TPU knuckle armour flexes with the hand during normal riding yet stiffens on impact, and the internal Micro-Lock technology in the wrist closure adds a secondary level of shock absorption at the point where most forces travel in a crash. Reinforced leather panels line the entire outer edge of the hand for additional abrasion coverage at the palm heel.
Materials and Build Quality
The outer shell is cut from goatskin — a material favoured in premium sport gloves for its balance of tensile strength, suppleness and low weight. At an average of just 0.3 kg per pair, the Oulton MK2 disappears on the hand, leaving the rider connected to the bar rather than aware of the glove. An Amara silicone-grip insert on the inner palm locks the hand in place under hard braking, while perforated fingers allow enough airflow to keep the Oulton comfortable across a broad temperature range on the open road.
