DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 350SX-F's crankcase takes two Accossato plugs rather than one, the BEP01 and the SEP01, each at its own separate location on the casing. Accossato lists the BEP01 for this bike's 2011-to-2017 build, closing an opening in the engine case in place of whichever stock part was there before.
Key Features
- Crankcase plug for the KTM 350SX-F, 2011 to 2017
- Accossato code BEP01, closes an opening in the engine casing
- Available in orange or blue
- Accossato also lists a second crankcase plug, SEP01, for this bike
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FC 250, FE 350 and KTM 250EXC-F, among others
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
Built to seat in a fixed spot on the 350SX-F's own casing, the BEP01 isn't interchangeable with the SEP01's separate location, so a bike missing both needs both plugs ordered. Orange and blue have no bearing on how it seals, only on finish. A plug sitting proud rather than flush, or one that's clearly been worked on with the wrong tool in the past, is worth sorting sooner rather than later.
A Plug Easy to Overlook on Race Day
Pre-race checks on the 350SX-F tend to focus on levers, cables and tyre pressure, leaving a small crankcase plug well down the list of things anyone thinks to inspect. Yet a plug that's worked loose over a season can still let oil seep out slowly enough to go unnoticed until it's dripped onto the track surface. Adding a quick look at both the BEP01 and the SEP01 to a pre-event routine costs nothing and rules out one more way a race weekend could go wrong.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's own list for the BEP01 covers the 350SX-F across 2011 to 2017. The same plug reaches the Husqvarna FC 250 and FE 350, and the KTM 250EXC-F, part of the wider engine family it belongs to, so a garage running more than one of these bikes can keep a single spare. Confirming the exact build year against that list before ordering is still worth the extra minute.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the BEP01, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
