Der X.WED3 Atlantic Carbon Blue ist der am vollständigsten ausgestattete Adventure-Helm von Nexx, in einem Finish, das dem Material den Vortritt lässt: dunkelblau getöntes Carbon, schwarzer Schirm, kleine orangefarbene Details. Der X.WED3 ist die richtige Wahl, wenn Sie alles direkt am Helm haben möchten, also Schirm, brillentaugliche Öffnung, abgedichtetes Visier und Sonnenblende, und dafür etwas mehr Gewicht in Kauf nehmen. Die Schale besteht aus X-PRO Carbon und ist nach ECE 22-06 zugelassen; die Größen reichen von XS bis XXXL.
Das Finish Atlantic Carbon Blue
Atlantic ist eine schlichte Carbon-Farbstellung, keine Grafik. Das Gewebe ist auf Schale und Schirm überall sichtbar und dunkel marineblau getönt: In Innenräumen wirkt es fast schwarz, im Sonnenlicht wie tiefes Ozeanblau. Schirm und untere Zierteile sind schwarz, kleine orange Akzente am Kinnriemen und am Heck setzen einen technischen Kontrast. Auf dem Produktfoto ist der Helm mit einem blau verspiegelten Visier zu sehen. Die Reflexe deuten auf glänzenden Klarlack hin, schriftlich bestätigt Nexx matt oder glänzend allerdings nicht. Lackiertes Carbon ist nach einem staubigen Tag schnell sauber, ein feuchtes Tuch genügt, leichte Spuren lassen sich auspolieren. Tiefe Kratzer gehen durch Klarlack und Gewebe und lassen sich nicht verbergen. Weil es keine großen lackierten Flächen gibt, kann auch keine Grafik an den Kanten abplatzen, was gut zu einem Helm passt, der früher oder später auf Schotter landet.
Alles an Bord
Während der leichtere X.RALLY verlangt, dass Sie vor der Abfahrt ein Visier wählen, lässt Ihnen der X.WED3 unterwegs die Wahl. Eine innenliegende Sonnenblende, laut Nexx 18 Prozent größer als zuvor, klappt vor dem Hauptvisier herunter. Das Panorama-Visier aus Lexan hat eine Antibeschlag-Stellung und Super Lock und kommt mit eingesetzter Pinlock-120-XLT-MaxVision-Scheibe. Der Schirm lässt sich in mehrere Positionen stellen und mit der beiliegenden Verlängerung vergrößern. Ein Brillenbandhalter am Hinterkopf sichert die Crossbrille im Gelände. Nur wenige Adventure-Helme bringen so viel ohne Zubehör mit.
Was bei Atlantic im Karton liegt
Der Nexx-Herstellertext 2027 zum X.WED3 Atlantic nennt ein klares Visier, ein Smoke-Visier mit 80 Prozent Tönung, eine Pinlock-120-XLT-Scheibe und einen Beutel. Die Nexx-Website ergänzt Schirmverlängerung, Ersatzschrauben für den Schirm, Kamerahalter für Scheitel, Seite und Kinn, Windabweiser, Straßenabdeckungen, Abdeckungen für die Visiermechanik, eine Abdeckung für den Brillenbandhalter und einen Winterfilter für das Kinn. Das blau verspiegelte Visier vom Foto gehört nicht dazu. Wenn Sie ein Spiegelvisier möchten, ist das Zubehör; fragen Sie uns nach dem passenden Teil. Das Smoke-Visier ist nur für Tageslicht gedacht, nicht für Dämmerung oder Nacht.
Straße, Piste oder Brille
Der X.WED3 lässt sich ohne Werkzeug zwischen drei Konfigurationen umbauen. Mit Schirm und Visier ist er ein Adventure-Helm für gemischte Tage. Ohne Visier nimmt die Öffnung eine Crossbrille auf, der Brillenbandhalter hält das Band in Position. Ohne Schirm und mit den mitgelieferten Straßenabdeckungen fährt er sich wie ein Straßen-Integralhelm mit weniger Auftrieb auf der Autobahn. Die Recoil-Visieraufnahme arbeitet unabhängig vom Schirm.
Schutzdetails
An den X-PRO-Carbon-Versionen sitzen X-Foam-Aufprallpuffer aus EPP an Kinn und Seiten, eine elastische Schaumschicht, die sich nach einem Schlag zurückstellt. Das EPS-Futter ist die Anti-Vibration-Ausführung mit einer über Gummielemente entkoppelten Innenlage. Außerdem formt Nexx das Kinnteil so, dass das Risiko von Brustverletzungen bei einem Frontalaufprall sinkt. Mit F.R.S. (Patent angemeldet) ziehen Rettungskräfte die Wangenpolster heraus, damit sich der Helm schonender abnehmen lässt. Geschlossen wird mit Doppel-D-Ring und magnetischem X-LOCK-Halter.
ECE 22-06, DOT, CCC, NBR
Der Helm ist nach ECE 22-06 (UN), DOT FMVSS 218, CCC GB811:2022 und NBR7471:2015 zugelassen. Die ECE 22-06, seit 2024 Pflicht für neu verkaufte Helme in Europa, prüft weit mehr Aufschlagpunkte mit mehreren Geschwindigkeiten als die 22-05, ergänzt Schrägaufschläge auf einen rauen Amboss für die Rotationsbelastung und testet montiertes Zubehör wie Schirm und Sonnenblende gleich mit. Drei Schalengrößen, XXS–S, M–L und XL–XXXL, halten die Schale im Verhältnis zum Kopf.
Das Gewicht, das Sie tragen
Nexx nennt ca. 1.725 g ± 50 g je nach Größe; ein unabhängiger Test wog Größe M mit 1.797 g. Für einen Carbon-Adventure-Helm ist das eher schwer, und es ist der Preis für Sonnenblendenmechanik und vollen Schirm. Auf langen Tagen wirkt der Schirm im Wind als Hebel. Stellen Sie ihn auf Autobahnetappen deshalb möglichst flach oder nehmen Sie ihn für lange Straßenstücke ganz ab. Wer vor allem wenig Gewicht sucht, sollte den X.RALLY vergleichen.
Luft und Geräusch
Sieben verschließbare Einlässe und vier Auslässe, die Mid Airflow Chamber zwischen Schale und Futter sowie die Air-Cumbs-Kammer am Scheitel sorgen für die Belüftung. Die Tester sind uneins: Ein Messversuch bewertete die Belüftung niedrig, andere fanden den Luftstrom in Fahrt gut. Ehrlich bleiben muss man auch beim Geräusch. Unabhängige Tests stufen es als durchschnittlich ein, ein Magazin berichtet, dass offene Lüftungen bei Tempo pfeifen. Einen Dezibelwert nennen wir nicht; für die Autobahn sollten Sie Ohrstöpsel einplanen.
Innenausstattung und Passform
Das Futter besteht aus X.MART-DRY-Stoff, schweißableitend und antiallergisch, mit 3D-geformten, herausnehmbaren und waschbaren Polstern, dazu abnehmbare Kinnriemenbezüge und ein Windabweiser am Kinn. Tester beschreiben die Passform als größengerecht für eine mittelovale bis lange Kopfform und den Helm als brillenfreundlich.
Vor dem Kauf
Der X.WED3 ist nicht leicht, mit offenen Lüftungen nicht leise, und die Belüftung bei langsamer Fahrt ist umstritten. SHARP hat ihn nicht getestet, ein ADAC-Ergebnis gibt es nicht. Das blaue Spiegelvisier vom Foto ist nicht im Lieferumfang. Auf der Habenseite steht, dass er zu den wenigen Adventure-Helmen gehört, die Sonnenblende, Schirm, Brillentauglichkeit und eingesetzten Pinlock in einer Schale vereinen.
Kommunikation, Kamera und Ersatzteile
Die Schale ist für Nexx X.COM3 (Bluetooth 5.2) vorbereitet. Kamerahalter für Scheitel, Seite und ein in vier Positionen verstellbarer Kinnhalter liegen bei. Visiere, Pinlock-Scheiben, Schirme und Polstersätze gibt es als X.WED3-Ersatzteile.
