Ein Kinnteil, das sich öffnet — und die P/J-Frage
🟢 Der Genesis R SV ist ein Klapphelm: Das Kinnteil lässt sich hochklappen und wird von einem robusten Verriegelungssystem gehalten. An der Ampel, an der Tankstelle, beim Gespräch bleibt der Helm auf dem Kopf.
🔵🔵 Was MT für dieses Modell nicht dokumentiert, ist die P/J-Doppelhomologation — jene Kennzeichnung, die das Fahren mit hochgeklapptem Kinnteil in weiten Teilen Europas erst legal macht. Prüfen Sie das Zulassungsetikett im Helm.
Zum weißen Glanzfinish
Ein Klapphelm hat mehr sichtbare Trennlinien als jede andere Bauart: die Kinnteilfuge, das Scharniergehäuse, die Kante der Sonnenblendenmechanik. Glanzweiß fasst das zusammen, statt es zu betonen — die helle Fläche liest sich als ein Körper, und die Fugen treten optisch zurück. 🟢 Praktisch zählt vor allem die Helligkeit. Ein Autofahrer, der an einer Einmündung wartet, tastet auf Windschutzscheibenhöhe ab, und genau dort sitzt Ihr Kopf: über dem Scheinwerfer, in Bewegung vor einem stehenden Hintergrund. Je heller dieses Objekt ist, desto früher wird es registriert, und der Vorsprung ist bei flachem, bedecktem Licht am größten. Dazu kommt der Wärmevorteil: Eine weiße Schale reflektiert Sonnenlast, die eine dunkle in Wärme im Innenfutter umwandelt — bei einem Klapphelm, den man auf langen Etappen trägt, spürbar. 🔵 Der Preis ist die Pflege: Weiß zeigt Insektenreste und Straßenfilm deutlich. Glanzlack gibt beides dafür leichter wieder her als eine matte Oberfläche — einweichen, abspülen, dann erst abnehmen; trocken wischen zerkratzt jeden Lack.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 — und das Gewicht, das MT nicht nennt
Die Schale besteht aus HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer, ein im Spritzguss verarbeiteter Thermoplast, und ist nach ECE 22.06 zugelassen.
🔵 Zwei Lücken: Es gibt kein DOT für dieses Modell — anders als bei MTs Atom 2 SV und Braker SV. Und MT veröffentlicht kein Gewicht.
Die integrierte Sonnenblende
🟢 Eine integrierte, ausklappbare Sonnenblende ist eingebaut. Bei einem Klapphelm ist sie besonders sinnvoll, weil ein Wechselvisier im Alltag umständlicher ist — man müsste anhalten, das Kinnteil öffnen und mit beiden Händen arbeiten.
Zur Pflege: nie trocken abwischen — Straßenstaub ist mineralisch und zieht dauerhafte Kratzer in die Beschichtung.
Das Visier 935 und die Pinlock-Scheibe zum Nachkaufen
🟢 Das Visier trägt die Bezeichnung 935 und bietet ein breites Sichtfeld.
🔵🔵 Eine Antibeschlagscheibe liegt nicht bei. Vorbereitet ist der Helm für Pinlock® DKS279 oder DKS002 — beide sind separate Käufe. Bei einer Winterstrecke beschlägt das Visier ohne sie an jeder Ampel.
Innenfutter, Passform und Interkom-Aussparungen
🟢 Das Innenfutter ist vollständig herausnehmbar und waschbar und hat Aussparungen für Interkom-Lautsprecher. Nachrüsten ist damit eine Sache von Minuten statt von Schaumstoffschnitzerei.
🔵 Ein System liegt nicht bei — der Helm bringt nur den Platz mit.
Der Mikrometerverschluss
🟢 Der Kinnriemen schließt über einen Mikrometerverschluss: eine Ratsche, die feinere Abstufungen erlaubt als ein Doppel-D-Ring und sich einhändig bedienen lässt.
Bei einem Klapphelm, den man an jedem Halt öffnet, ist das die praktischere Wahl — auch wenn der Riemen dabei geschlossen bleibt.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
Im MT-Programm ist der Genesis R SV der Klapphelm der Einstiegsklasse. Zum selben Preis von rund 115 € bietet MT mit dem Braker SV einen festen Integralhelm, der zusätzlich DOT und einen Atemabweiser mitbringt — aber sich nicht öffnen lässt.
🟢 Die Frage ist schlicht, ob Sie das Kinnteil tatsächlich nutzen werden.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Als Ersatzteile führt MT das Visier 935, die Pinlock-Scheibe, die Sonnenblende, das Futter und die Wangenpolster — alle einzeln erhältlich.
🔵 Ersetzen Sie den Helm nach rund fünf Jahren unabhängig vom Zustand und sofort nach jedem Aufprall.
