Ein Kinnteil, das sich öffnet — und die P/J-Frage
🟢 Ein Klapphelm wiegt 150 bis 250 Gramm mehr als ein fester Integralhelm derselben Klasse. Dafür bekommt man die Möglichkeit, den Helm an jedem Halt zu öffnen, ohne ihn abzusetzen — auf einer Pendelstrecke mit vielen Ampeln zahlt sich das aus.

Zum matten Grün
Grün ist im Klapphelm-Segment selten, und das ist der halbe Grund, es zu wählen: Der Helm sieht nach nichts aus, was andere fahren. Der Ton gehört zur selben Materialwelt wie Wachsjacken, Alukoffer und Segeltuch — auf einer Reiseenduro oder einem klassischen Tourer schließt sich das Bild besonders gut. Matt ausgeführt wirkt er zurückhaltender, als die Farbbezeichnung vermuten lässt. 🔵 Zur Sichtbarkeit ein Punkt, der bei Grün regelmäßig übersehen wird: Es ist die Farbe, die in einer Landschaft mit Bäumen, Wiesen und Grünstreifen am wenigsten als Fremdkörper gelesen wird. Auf der Landstraße arbeitet ein kräftiges Grün deshalb schlechter als ein heller Ton, auch wenn es kräftig wirkt — im Stadtverkehr ist der Unterschied kleiner. 🔵 Zur Pflege der matten Oberfläche: Die feine Struktur hält Insektenreste fest und darf nicht poliert werden, weil dabei glänzende Stellen entstehen. Einweichen, abspülen, sanft abnehmen.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
🟢 Was Gewicht bei einem Klapphelm praktisch bedeutet: Die zusätzliche Masse sitzt vorn unten am Scharnier, was den Schwerpunkt nach vorn verschiebt. Bei geneigter Kopfhaltung macht sich das stärker bemerkbar als im aufrechten Sitzen.
🔵 Rund 1,7 Kilogramm sind hier der Preis für die Bauart.
MT-ESP — eine Sonnenblende, die den Windabweiser trifft
🟢 Die erweiterte Abdeckung der MT-ESP ist eine der wenigen Angaben, bei denen ein Hersteller einen konkreten Vorteil gegenüber der üblichen Bauform benennt: Sie schließt an den Windabweiser an, statt darüber zu enden.
🔵 Zur Pflege: einweichen statt wischen; die Beschichtung ist weicher als der Lack der Schale.
MT-FSOS, MT-ESLS und die Pinlock-Scheibe im Karton
🟢 Dass eine Antibeschlagscheibe im Karton liegt, ist bei MT die Ausnahme — Braker SV, Genesis R SV und Targo S haben keine. Beim Atom 2 SV ist die Pinlock® DKS512 serienmäßig.
🟢 Kompatibel ist alternativ die FogOff FOG013.
Der Doppelhaken-Verschluss
🟢 Der Riemen muss auch bei einem Klapphelm stramm sitzen — das geöffnete Kinnteil ändert daran nichts. Der MT-Micrometric+ erlaubt die dafür nötige Feineinstellung, die MT-MDTC-Verzahnung die Sicherung.
Bedienbar ist beides einhändig.
Ein Spoiler, der den Auslass verdeckt
🟢 Der Heckspoiler hat zwei Aufgaben: Er reduziert den Auftrieb bei hohem Tempo und nimmt den Luftauslass auf. Bei einem Klapphelm, der ohnehin mehr Stirnfläche hat, ist der erste Punkt nicht nebensächlich.
🔵 Eine Messung der Belüftungsleistung existiert nicht.
Innenfutter, Passform und der Windabweiser
🟢 Für die Feinabstimmung der Passform gibt es Wangenpolster als Ersatzteil — der übliche Weg, wenn der Helm im Kopfbereich sitzt, an den Wangen aber zu locker oder zu straff ist.
Serienmäßig sind ein herausnehmbares Futter und ein Windabweiser dabei.
Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Für Pendler ist ein Interkom meist weniger zum Telefonieren da als für Navigationsansagen — und dafür reicht ein einfaches System vollkommen aus.
🔵 Der Atom 2 SV ist dafür vorbereitet; das Gerät gehört nicht zum Lieferumfang.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
🔵 Die ehrliche Einordnung: Der Atom 2 SV ist der bestausgestattete MT-Klapphelm — und hat trotzdem eine offene Flanke, nämlich die nicht dokumentierte P/J-Homologation.
🟢 Dafür liegt eine Pinlock-Scheibe bei, was bei MT die Ausnahme ist.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🔵 Beim Ersatz der Optik nach Bezeichnung bestellen: MT-V-35 für das Visier, DKS512 für die Pinlock-Scheibe. Teile anderer MT-Modelle passen nicht.
🟢 Als Alternative zur DKS512 nennt MT die FogOff FOG013.

Yes — the cheek pads are channelled so the arms of your glasses slide in comfortably.
Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
