DescriptionThe whole story▼
Red with cyan is an unusual pairing on a helmet and a well-chosen one: two colours that sit at opposite ends of the spectrum, so neither can be mistaken for the other in any light.
A carbon shell in six sizes
🔵 Six shell sizes is the specification that sets this helmet apart, and Certimoov singled it out with an exclamation mark when it assessed the FF811 platform.
Most full-faces in this class use one to three shells. Nine sizes from six mouldings is rare at any price and unheard of in carbon.
No rating of its own — and what does transfer from the composite
🔵 The honest split, stated once: geometry transfers, material does not. Certimoov's remarks about how compact this helmet is and how much you can see out of it describe the same shell shape you are buying.
Its impact assessment, and SHARP's four stars, describe a fibreglass shell.
Airflow that reaches your head
Airflow only happens if the air has somewhere lower in pressure to go, which is why the rear exit matters as much as the two intakes at the front.
🔵 The chin intake is the one that earns its keep in winter, because it feeds the visor as well as your face.
About the Grid red and cyan graphic
Cyan is the interesting half of this. The human eye's sensitivity peak shifts towards shorter wavelengths as light levels fall — the Purkinje shift — which means blues and cyans hold their apparent brightness at dusk better than reds do, exactly when reds start to look muddy. Pairing the two therefore gives you a helmet with something working at both ends of the day: the red does the job in daylight, the cyan carries it into the evening. Against a dark carbon ground both read as marks rather than as a colour scheme, which is what makes them legible at distance. 🔵 Two notes. Red is the most UV-sensitive pigment used on helmets, so store this one out of prolonged direct sun. And the carbon base is doing what dark bases do in poor light, with the two colours carrying the visibility between them. Among the four Grid finishes this is the only one built on colour rather than on tone or fluorescence, and it is the most conventional-looking of them. If you want a carbon helmet that still reads as a carbon helmet with a graphic rather than as a high-visibility item, this is the one — the two fluorescent Grids are considerably louder.
Three visors, one helmet
🟢 Pinlock 120 MaxVision is the top anti-fog grade Pinlock makes, with the widest treated area. Included rather than sold separately, which is worth around 30 €.
🔵 It is the difference between a visor that fogs at traffic lights and one that does not.
Holding on, and letting go
🟢 The emergency release is the feature you hope never matters. It lets responders withdraw the cheek pads before the helmet is moved, which is the moment most likely to disturb a damaged neck.
🔵 It is not a quick-release for you — it is designed to be operated by someone else, on you, at a roadside.
The part you actually touch
🔵 Certimoov's one significant criticism of this platform was getting the helmet on, and it follows directly from the six-shell design everyone praises: a helmet built close to the head has to be pulled over your ears.
Try it on before buying. Once on, the same closeness is what makes it stable.
Carbon or composite — which Vector II to buy
🟢 Against LS2's other carbon full-face, the FF807 Dragon: that one is 50 g heavier at 1450 g, uses three shell sizes rather than six, and does hold 4 SHARP stars.
🔵 This one fits more finely and has no rating. Which matters more is genuinely a personal judgement.
Care and replacement parts
🔵 The Pinlock insert is a consumable too. It is a soft-coated lens that scratches more easily than the visor behind it; when it hazes, replace it rather than living with it.
Replacement 120 MaxVision inserts are available separately.

Size guide
🔵 Try this one on before buying if you can. Certimoov's one significant criticism of the FF811 platform was how awkward it is to pull over your ears — a direct consequence of how closely it fits once on.
The closeness is the point; the way on is the cost.

Specification
- Model — LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon
- Part number — 168115327
- Colour — Grid — Red and cyan over carbon
- Homologation — ECE 22.06
- 🔴 Safety rating — none. SHARP's „LS2 Vector 2" 4 stars (02/2025) records composite fibre, 1.5 kg — the HPFC version, not this carbon at 1400 g. Not carried over
- 🟢 What does transfer — Certimoov rated the FF811 platform 3.5/5 on a fibreglass Splitter. Compactness and field of vision transfer (shared geometry); impact scores do not. 🔵 criticised: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism
- Shell — 6K woven carbon, structural — not a carbon-look wrap; six shell sizes (2XS–XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL–3XL–4XL)
- Impact liner — multi-density EPS with ventilation ducts moulded through the foam
- Weight — approx. 1400 g (±50 g). 🔵 the composite Vector II is 1500 g — carbon saves 100 g for about 100 € more
- Sizes — XXS to 4XL (nine sizes). Shell prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit; no system supplied
- Visor — wide, hardcoated, UV-protected, quick-change
- Sun visor — integrated drop-down shield, stowing fully inside the shell. 🔵 Certimoov called the mechanism improvable
- 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™, a complete tinted visor, a carrying backpack and reflective stickers
- 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
- Ventilation — Dynamic Flow-Through — chin and forehead intakes, ducts in the EPS, rear exit. 🔵 left unrated: nothing measured on the carbon version
- 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no independent measurement is published for this model
- Retention — reinforced strap, micrometric metal fastener, emergency-release tabs for the cheek pads
- Interior — breathable, hypoallergenic, X-Static® silver, laser-cut, removable. 🔵 the composite Vector II is not listed with X-Static
- 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet, not eligible for FIM-sanctioned competition
- Serviceability — both visors, sun visor, Pinlock insert, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining and vent covers
- Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — carbon hides a crushed liner
