DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fluorescent green is the rarer of the two high-visibility colours and, for that reason alone, the more interesting of them. It does the same physical job as fluorescent yellow and reads completely differently.
A carbon shell in six sizes
🔵 A compact shell is not only a styling matter. Less shell means less mass, less frontal area and less to be pushed around by turbulence — and on a 1400 g helmet those effects compound rather than cancel.
Six shell sizes are what make the Vector II Carbon compact at every head size rather than only at the middle of the range.
No rating of its own — and what does transfer from the composite
🔵 Untested is not the same as poor. Nobody has measured this shell's impact performance, so the available evidence is its ECE 22.06 homologation — the legal requirement every helmet on sale clears.
For many riders that is a reasonable basis. It should be a decision rather than an assumption made from a sibling's stars.
Airflow that reaches your head
The vent covers are inside the ECE 22.06 approval, because the current standard tests a helmet with everything fitted that will be sold on it. They open and close by hand and work in gloves.
🔵 Beyond the layout, no airflow figure has been published for the carbon version by anyone independent.
About the Grid matt fluo green graphic
Both colours work the same way — absorbing ultraviolet and re-emitting it as visible light, so the surface returns more than falls on it — and both sit close to the wavelength the human eye is most sensitive to in daylight. What separates them is not physics but familiarity. Fluorescent yellow is the colour European emergency services and highway crews converged on, which makes it instantly legible and also makes a helmet wearing it look like equipment. Fluorescent green is used far less, so it carries the same conspicuity mechanism plus a scarcity advantage: an eye scanning a junction stops on whatever does not belong, and there is even less green than yellow in a traffic scene. 🔵 The same two caveats apply as to any fluorescent finish: the pigment fades under sustained ultraviolet over years, so store it out of the sun, and matt is washed rather than polished. Between the two fluorescent Grid finishes the physics is identical and the reading is not: yellow is the colour everyone associates with high-visibility workwear, green is not. If you want the safety benefit without looking like site equipment, green is the way to get it — and it is the rarer of the two on the road by a wide margin.
Three visors, one helmet
🔵 With the shield down and the outer visor closed you are looking through two surfaces, so keep both clean. Never wipe either dry — grit dragged across a coated screen leaves scratches that flare against oncoming headlights.
Replacement visors and Pinlock inserts are both available separately.
Holding on, and letting go
🔵 Carbon hides damage. A composite shell often shows a mark; a carbon one can appear untouched over crushed EPS. After a serious knock, replace the helmet rather than assessing it by eye.
The liner is the part that protects you, and it is the part you cannot inspect.
The part you actually touch
Comfort over four hours is decided by pressure distribution rather than softness. A lining that feels plush in the first minute often lacks support and produces a hot spot later.
🔵 Because the pads come out and swap individually, a pressure point here is usually fixable rather than fatal.
Carbon or composite — which Vector II to buy
Eleven finishes, two prices. Matt Carbon and Gloss Carbon at 322 €; the nine graphics at 339 €.
🔵 Nothing else changes between them — same 6K shell, same six-shell construction, same box contents.
Care and replacement parts
🔵 Store it somewhere dark, dry and cool. Ultraviolet degrades lacquer and graphics, heat degrades EPS, and a helmet left on a rear parcel shelf through one summer ages several years.
The supplied backpack is a better home for it than a sealed plastic bag, which traps moisture.
In the box
- LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon helmet — Grid, Matt fluorescent green over carbon (6K carbon shell)
- Clear hardcoated visor, fitted, with quick-change system
- Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™ anti-fog insert
- A complete tinted visor — 🔵 daylight use only in most European jurisdictions
- Integrated drop-down sun visor, fitted
- Carrying backpack

- 🔵 No intercom — the shell is prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit, which is a separate purchase
Size guide
🔵 The check that settles it: with the strap fastened, try to rotate the helmet on your head, then try to roll it forward off you. Neither should be possible.
If either is, it is too large whatever the tape said.

Specification
- Model — LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon
- Part number — 168115360
- Colour — Grid — Matt fluorescent green over carbon
- Homologation — ECE 22.06
- 🔴 Safety rating — none. SHARP's „LS2 Vector 2" 4 stars (02/2025) records composite fibre, 1.5 kg — the HPFC version, not this carbon at 1400 g. Not carried over
- 🟢 What does transfer — Certimoov rated the FF811 platform 3.5/5 on a fibreglass Splitter. Compactness and field of vision transfer (shared geometry); impact scores do not. 🔵 criticised: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism
- Shell — 6K woven carbon, structural — not a carbon-look wrap; six shell sizes (2XS–XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL–3XL–4XL)
- Impact liner — multi-density EPS with ventilation ducts moulded through the foam
- Weight — approx. 1400 g (±50 g). 🔵 the composite Vector II is 1500 g — carbon saves 100 g for about 100 € more
- Sizes — XXS to 4XL (nine sizes). Shell prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit; no system supplied
- Visor — wide, hardcoated, UV-protected, quick-change
- Sun visor — integrated drop-down shield, stowing fully inside the shell. 🔵 Certimoov called the mechanism improvable
- 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™, a complete tinted visor, a carrying backpack and reflective stickers
- 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
- Ventilation — Dynamic Flow-Through — chin and forehead intakes, ducts in the EPS, rear exit. 🔵 left unrated: nothing measured on the carbon version
- 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no independent measurement is published for this model
- Retention — reinforced strap, micrometric metal fastener, emergency-release tabs for the cheek pads
- Interior — breathable, hypoallergenic, X-Static® silver, laser-cut, removable. 🔵 the composite Vector II is not listed with X-Static
- 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet, not eligible for FIM-sanctioned competition
- Serviceability — both visors, sun visor, Pinlock insert, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining and vent covers
- Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — carbon hides a crushed liner
