Silver Chainmail is the two-tone version of the men's Knox Urbane Pro MK3, and the name says what it looks like: a metallic-grey panel pattern that recalls the mail armour of old, on a modern armoured shirt for hot-weather riding.
The MK3 is CE approved as a stand-alone garment to EN 17092 Class AA and carries Micro-Lock Compact Level 2 armour in back, shoulders and elbows, so it can be ridden in without a jacket.

Core Garment for Any Bike
Knox designed the Urbane Pro MK3 as the core garment for any rider, no matter what motorcycle they ride. Its argument is fit: worn close to the body, the armour stays where it should rather than shifting inside a loose jacket.
Certified Class AA under EN 17092 on its own, the Silver Chainmail MK3 is a complete riding top for summer and the protective base layer for the rest of the year.
Protection in Detail
Knox fits thinner, lighter and more flexible Micro-Lock Compact armour at Level 2 in shoulders and elbows. The back protector is full length and certified to EN 1621-2 Level 2.
If you want chest coverage as well, the inside front has a branded Velcro panel for Knox's optional Micro-Lock chest protector.
Materials
High-tenacity stretch nylon is paired with a tough, breathable arrownet mesh, both chosen by Knox for abrasion, cut and tear resistance. Stretch mesh panels add flexibility and help airflow in the heat.
Knox's own labelling sums it up as lightweight, breathable and comfortable for riding in hot conditions.
Storage and Finish
You get two exterior zipped pockets with reflective pullers plus a visor wipe, four low-profile interior pockets, and dedicated pockets for a phone and earplugs. All zips are YKK.
Comfort binding at neck and cuffs, an embossed front placket, thumb loops and a stretch reflective binding that only reflects at night finish the shirt. Knox security belt loops connect it to your trousers, and a sleeve patch nods to the brand's heritage.
Sizing and Care
The men's MK3 comes in S to 5XL. Knox's size chart uses chest and waist measured close to the body, and the brand recommends sizing up between two sizes because the shirt is designed to be fitted.
To wash the Silver Chainmail shirt, take out the shoulder, elbow and back protectors, close all zips and follow the label. The lighter panels will look their best with regular washing, and the shirt dries quickly thanks to its mesh panels. Refit each pad flat in its pocket before your next ride, and check the back protector sits straight.
What You Should Know
No waterproofing and no insulation: in rain or cold the MK3 needs an outer layer from the Seasonless range. The chest protector is not included.
Remove the armour before machine washing. If you are between sizes, Knox recommends the larger one.
Colour
Two-tone Silver Chainmail combines a light metallic grey with black. It stands out more than the all-black MK3 in daylight and reflects more sunlight, so it feels a little cooler in summer. Light grey shows grime faster, so it needs more frequent washing; at night the reflective binding adds to its visibility.
