DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every rider needs a factory-team boot. The Sidi Crosscore is a new off-road model that Sidi aims at riders of all levels, and the all-black 102 is the most understated way into it: a microfiber boot with TPU armour, four replaceable buckles and a fit that, according to Sidi, needs no break-in period.
Think weekend motocross, trail loops and practice sessions rather than chasing championship points. That is the use the manufacturer itself describes, and it is where this boot earns its place in your kit bag.
Key Features
- Microfiber upper with thermoformed tongue and a hinge at the back that lets the shaft flex
- High-density TPU guards covering tibia, calf, ankle and foot
- Shin plate and calf guard with an anti-slip, heat-resistant insert
- Asymmetric Flexion System closure with four polymer buckles that can be replaced
- Rubber outsole in an all-terrain compound for traction and control on the pegs
- Slim inner profile for close contact with the bike
- CE certified to EN 13634:2017, EU sizes 37–50
Where the Crosscore Sits
Sidi describes the Crosscore as ready for everyday use and weekend adventures and as a fit engineered for riders of every level. Read plainly, that makes it an all-rounder: a sensible first proper MX boot for someone moving up from enduro or trail footwear, and an easy-going second pair for riders who already own something more specialised. The manufacturer does not position it as a race boot, and neither do we.
Armour Where It Counts
A dedicated plate runs down the front of the shin, while a separate guard wraps the calf. Both come with an insert that is anti-slip and heat-resistant, so your leg keeps its grip on the bike and is shielded from the warmth of the engine area. Around them, high-density TPU is used for the tibia, calf, ankle and foot zones. The boot carries CE approval under EN 13634:2017; the list gives no individual performance levels, so we do not quote any.
Closing It Up
Four polymer buckles make up what Sidi calls the Asymmetric Flexion System. Each one is adjustable, so the hold can be tightened at the ankle and left a touch looser at the top, or the other way round, depending on your leg and your knee brace. Because the buckles are replaceable, a cracked one after a crash is a part swap rather than the end of the boot.
How It Is Built
Roughly half of the boot by weight share is microfiber; around a quarter is the TPU of the protection panels, about 15 percent the rubber of the outsole, and the remainder is split between buckle hardware and the lining, padding and heat-resistant inserts. The tongue is thermoformed to give the front some structure, and the rear hinge lets the shaft follow the ankle when you shift weight. Production is in Bangladesh.
Sizing and Fit
The Crosscore comes in EU sizes 37 to 50 and is sold as a unisex model. Sidi tags it as a regular fit. The interior is deliberately slim, which helps you feel the bike through the boot; riders with a wide calf should check the buckle range against their leg before the first ride.
What You Should Know
The sources list no membrane, so the Crosscore should not be treated as waterproof, and no dedicated ventilation system is mentioned either. Sidi publishes no weight and no name for the sole compound. Statements such as "no break-in required" are manufacturer claims. This is an off-road boot first; its sole and armour are laid out for footpegs and dirt, not for walking or long road tours.
Colour
Black 102 is black from collar to outsole. The only contrast comes from the white Sidi logo on the shin plate and on the heel and the small Crosscore lettering at the top of the shaft. On the practical side, dark microfiber hides scuffs, oil marks and dried mud far better than any light colour, and it goes with every jersey and pant combination. The trade-off is visibility: in dusk or in a dusty forest the boot simply disappears, so rely on the rest of your kit to be seen.
