DescriptionThe whole story▼
The bracket is what turns a universal reservoir into something that fits an XSR900 GP. The OBT008 is the front bracket: 60.6 mm by 90.3 mm, black anodised, 10 g. LighTech makes the OBT008 in black only. Nothing on the XSR900 GP is cut or drilled to fit it.
Key Features
- It is the smallest line on the order
- Black anodised — LighTech makes this bracket in no other finish
- Simple, intuitive mounting — LighTech's own description, and it holds
- LighTech part number OBT008, listed for the Yamaha XSR900 GP
- The front bracket of the pair
- A stock LighTech item rather than a special order
Maintenance
Anodised aluminium takes brake cleaner badly; keep it off the OBT008. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the XSR900 GP.
Position Is the Point
The bracket is the part that has to suit the XSR900 GP, not the tank. The OBT008 sets the reservoir at 60.6 mm height with 90.3 mm of projection. One bracket per reservoir — the XSR900 GP needs the tank ordered alongside.
Application
LighTech lists the OBT008 for the Yamaha XSR900 GP. It is an adaptable bracket, not a Yamaha part — measure the space on the XSR900 GP first.
Fitting
The OBT008 replaces an existing part on the XSR900 GP rather than adding one. Offer the bracket up before tightening — the hose run on the XSR900 GP decides the angle. The OBT008 leaves no trace on the XSR900 GP if you take it off again.
Scope of Delivery
One bracket per package for the XSR900 GP. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.
What You Also Need
No reservoir is included with the OBT008. It carries the LighTech reservoirs OBT001, OBT006 and OBT007, which are ordered separately. A complete installation on the XSR900 GP is one tank plus one bracket.
Brake System and Road Approval
The hydraulic circuit is the one area where a styling part stops being a styling part. There is no type approval for the OBT008; we say that plainly rather than bury it. On a registered XSR900 GP, clarify the change with your inspection body, and let a workshop bleed and test the system after fitting.
