DescriptionThe whole story▼
For women riders, Knox calls the Action Pro Shirt MK2 its lightest, most breathable and most comfortable stretchy armoured shirt yet. It is cut close to the body with a flattering women's fit and works both as a protective layer under a jacket and as a riding top in its own right.
Certified to EN 17092-4:2020 Class A, it carries Micro-Lock Compact armour: Level 1 at shoulders and elbows to EN 1621-1:2012, and a Level 2 back protector to EN 1621-2:2014.
Key Features
- Women's fit, close to the body and highly stretchy
- EN 17092-4:2020 Class A – wearable alone for road riding
- Level 1 Micro-Lock Compact shoulders and elbows, Level 2 back protector
- Sorona Agile fabric (DuPont) with four-way stretch mesh
- Two welded zipped side bellow pockets
- Mesh cuffs with thumb loops, soft round collar, YKK front zip
- Ready for Knox's women's Micro-Lock chest protector
Athleisure With Armour
Knox created the Action Pro MK2 for riders who want to wear something comfortable and stylish without giving up protection. It belongs to Knox's athleisure range: activewear that feels at home on the bike, at the gym or on a mountain bike trail.
Under a jacket it adds abrasion resistance and keeps armour in place; on its own it meets Class A for road riding, so on hot days the jacket can stay at home.
Materials and Airflow
The shirt uses Sorona Agile from DuPont, a partly plant-based fibre with a subtle piqué texture that Knox describes as strong, stretchy and stain resistant. It is paired with lightweight four-way stretch mesh and a monochrome contour fabric.
Mesh panels at chest, back and underarms and elasticated mesh cuffs maximise airflow, so the shirt stays comfortable on long, warm rides.
Armour Details
Micro-Lock Compact armour is Knox's slimmest protector system, up to 60 percent lighter, thinner and more supple according to Knox. The shoulder and elbow pads are Level 1, the back protector Level 2. Knox's patented Flex and Adapt side closure keeps coverage unbroken as you move.
Pads are removable for washing, and a separate women's Micro-Lock chest protector can be added on the Velcro panel inside.
Storage and Fastening
Two zipped side bellow pockets with seamless welding give more storage than the original Action Pro. Reflective branding and zip pullers add visibility, and the back hem mesh hides a Knox logo that only appears when stretched.
Thumb loops in the mesh cuffs and Knox's security belt loop system keep everything in place. Knox's model is 178 cm tall and wears UK size 8 (XS).
Sizing and Care
Knox makes the women's Action Pro MK2 in seven sizes from XS to 3XL and sizes it by bust, waist and hip. Because the shirt is meant to be fitted, Knox suggests the next size up if your measurements fall between two. Take the armour out before machine washing and check the label for details.
What You Should Know
Class A is the entry level of EN 17092 for road garments, and the shoulder and elbow pads are Level 1. Riders who want Level 2 limb armour and Class AA should consider the women's Urbane Pro Move or MK3.
The shirt is neither waterproof nor insulated, and the chest protector is not included.
Colour
Black is the only colour for the women's Action Pro MK2, and it fits its sportswear style: discreet, easy to pair with leggings-style riding trousers or jeans, and forgiving of marks. In daylight black is not very visible, so the reflective details are what help after dark.
