The GSR 600 took the K5 GSX-R engine and wrapped it in angular naked bodywork, which gave it more performance than its riding position really invites. Bringing the bar up by twenty millimetres makes the bike easier to live with in traffic and does nothing to the way it turns.

The approval lists the GSR 600 from 2005 for the 1DGT-01.
Compact body
The machined riser sits low on the yoke, so the change is noticeable from the saddle rather than from the side of the bike.
Road Approval
For the Suzuki GSR 600, the risers are covered by ABE No. KBA 91473. The document notes: if the original 22 mm handlebar is kept, Gilles clamp half-shells are required; the handlebar may be a Gilles GTO-L, a WRP AM2200 or the original 28 mm bar. The document requires an inspection under §19(3) StVZO once they are fitted, which is a short appointment at an official testing organisation. Keep the printed ABE and the inspection confirmation with the papers.

Fitting
Take the original handlebar clamps off, fit the risers, and leave the bolts loose until the bar sits where you want it. Tighten to the specified torque, check the clearance to the tank at full lock and look over the fasteners again after the first ride.
