DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Trophy 1200 is Triumph's big touring bike, with shaft drive, a large fairing and room for two people and their luggage. Its weight is most noticeable not at speed but at walking pace, when the bars are turned and the front brake is used carelessly. For the Trophy 1200 and Trophy 1200 SE, Accossato lists the DK132, a floating front disc with a black carrier and a 320 mm friction ring, interchangeable with the original. The years on the list are 2012 to 2018.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the DK132 as a floating disc, with a friction ring and a black carrier connected by rivets that have a small amount of play. On a heavy tourer braking from speed with a full load, the ring gets very hot, and the float allows it to expand without distorting the carrier. The company, which took an Enduro world title in 1985, says its expertise with discs was built in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 and that the tolerances between the parts were studied in depth.
Walking Pace With the Bars on Lock
Most tip-overs on big tourers happen at walking pace: in a car park, at a hotel entrance or during a turn in a narrow street. The typical mistake is to pull the front brake while the bars are turned. The front wheel stops, the weight of the bike falls towards the inside of the turn, and with a machine the size of the Trophy there is no holding it. The answer is to leave the front brake alone during slow, tight manoeuvres. Control the speed with the clutch and a light touch of the rear brake, keep a little throttle on, and look where you want to go rather than at the ground. Use the front brake only when the bars are straight.
At the other end of the speed range the front discs do the heavy work: stopping a loaded Trophy from motorway speed puts a great deal of heat into them. Check their thickness before a long trip. Accossato prints the minimum on every disc and warns that a worn disc can break under extreme stress.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK132 for the Trophy 1200 and the Trophy 1200 SE from 2012 to 2018, replacing an original front disc. The Trophy has two front discs and each order covers one. Accossato's lever list for the Trophy includes the EDF014 and the ESC777.
Road Approval
Road use in Germany is not covered by an ABE or type approval for the DK132. We sell it for the track.
