DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Sprint GT 1050 is a sports tourer built around Triumph's three-cylinder engine, and Accossato lists it in its ABS form. Changing a front disc on a bike with ABS adds one item to the checklist: the wheel speed sensor. For the Sprint GT 1050 of 2010 to 2020, Accossato's list names the DK132, a floating front disc whose 320 mm ring sits on a black carrier and which is interchangeable with the original equipment disc.
Key Features
- Floating front disc for the Triumph Sprint GT 1050
- Listed for the ABS version, 2010 to 2020
- 320 mm outer diameter, 150 mm inner diameter, 5 mm thick
- Interchangeable with the original equipment disc
- Black carrier
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- One disc per order; two are fitted at the front
- No German ABE on record; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The DK132 is made of two parts, a friction ring and a black carrier. Rivets connect them and allow the ring to move a little, so that heat built up on a long descent can expand the ring without warping the carrier. Accossato explains that its experience in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 shaped its choice of materials and the fit of the parts, and it adds that the low weight of its discs benefits steering and control.
The ABS Light After the Job
The ABS on the Sprint GT needs to know how fast each wheel is turning, and it learns this from a sensor that reads a toothed ring near the hub. When the front wheel comes out for a disc change, sensor and ring are easy to knock or to foul with dirt. Before removing the wheel, note where the sensor is mounted and how its cable is routed. If the toothed ring is fixed together with the disc, transfer it to the new disc exactly as it was.
On refitting, make sure the cable is neither trapped nor stretched and that the sensor face is clean, and wipe the toothed ring free of grease and brake dust. Then start the bike and ride off slowly: the ABS warning light should go out after a short distance, once the system has seen both wheels turning. If it stays on, stop and check the sensor gap and the connector before going further, as the ABS may be inactive. The new disc and pads still need bedding in, so keep the first stops gentle.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK132 for the Sprint GT 1050 with ABS from 2010 to 2020, in place of an original front disc. The Sprint GT has two discs at the front; the price is for one. Accossato's lever list for this bike includes the EDF014 and the EST333. The same DK132 also appears on the list for the Speed Triple 1050, the Trophy 1200 and some Thruxton models.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a type approval is on file for the DK132, so it is supplied for track use.
Scope of Delivery
