Eine schlichte dunkle Tönung, unbeschichtet, für Fahrer, die auf der Rennstrecke Sonnenschutz wollen, ohne sich auf ein Spiegelfinish einzulassen. Im Juli auf einem Kurs ohne Schatten ist der Unterschied zwischen einer durchgekniffenen Zwanzig-Minuten-Session und einer gefahrenen mehr wert als jede Beschichtung.
Absorption statt Reflexion
Ein verspiegeltes Visier hält Licht an der Oberfläche mit einer metallischen Schicht auf. Ein Smoke-Visier absorbiert es im Körper der Scheibe. Praktisch bedeutet das: keine Beschichtung, die aufscheuert, keine, die Fingerabdrücke annimmt, und nichts, was von der Innenseite in die eigenen Augen zurückstrahlt, wenn man in eine tiefstehende Sonne fährt — eine Klage, die Spiegelvisiere auf sich ziehen und Smoke-Visiere nicht. Die Tönung ist zudem von Rand zu Rand gleichmäßig und verhält sich bei wechselndem Licht berechenbar, weshalb etliche Rennfahrer sie einem Spiegel weiterhin vorziehen.
Nur Rennstrecke und geschlossene Kurse
Nolan liefert diese Tönung ausschließlich für Rennstrecken und private Kurse. Sie ist auf öffentlichen Straßen in Europa nicht zugelassen, und sie hat bei Dunkelheit oder schlechtem Licht unter keinen Umständen etwas auf dem Kopf zu suchen. Als Streckenvisier kaufen und für die Heimfahrt das klare wieder aufziehen.
Woraus es besteht
In Italien gefertigtes Lexan-Polycarbonat mit kratzfester Behandlung auf Innen- und Außenseite, geschnitten auf dieselbe flache Ultrawide-Geometrie wie jedes andere X-804-Visier und über alle vier Schalengrößen austauschbar.
Beschlag bleibt auch bei dunklem Visier ein Thema
Die Pinlock-Stifte sind montiert. Sie zu nutzen lohnt sich: Eine dunkle Scheibe beschlägt genauso bereitwillig wie eine klare, und ein kalter, feuchter Morgen an der Strecke ist genau die Lage, in der ein dunkles Visier montiert wird und in der Beschlag eine Session ruiniert.
