Was ein offener Helm leistet — und was nicht
🔵 Ohne Umschweife: Diesem Helm fehlt der Kinnbügel. Was bei einem Integralhelm den Kiefer umschließt, ist hier schlicht nicht vorhanden — und die Aufprallzone, die bei Motorradunfällen am häufigsten getroffen wird, liegt genau dort.
Das ist kein Konstruktionsmangel, sondern die Definition der Bauart. Wer sie wählt, tauscht einen Teil des Schutzes gegen Übersicht, Luft und ein niedriges Gewicht ein.
Zum weißen Glanzfinish
Bei einem Helm ohne Kinnschutz ist Sichtbarkeit kein Stilthema, sondern der wichtigste Beitrag zur Sicherheit, den eine Farbe leisten kann: Was Sie vor einem Sturz schützt, ist gesehen zu werden. Ein Autofahrer, der an einer Einmündung wartet, tastet auf Windschutzscheibenhöhe ab, und genau dort sitzt Ihr Kopf — über dem Scheinwerfer, in Bewegung vor einem stehenden Hintergrund. Je heller dieses Objekt ist, desto früher wird es registriert, und der Vorsprung ist bei flachem, bedecktem Licht am größten, nicht in der Mittagssonne. 🟢 Dazu ein Wärmeargument, das im Stadtverkehr besonders zählt: An der Ampel steht die Luft, und eine weiße Schale reflektiert Sonnenlast, die eine dunkle in Wärme im Innenfutter umwandelt. Bei einem Helm, für den MT kein Belüftungssystem angibt, ist das kein Nebenaspekt. 🔵 Der Preis ist die Pflege — Weiß zeigt Insektenreste und Straßenfilm deutlich, gibt sie als Glanzlack aber leichter wieder her als eine matte Oberfläche. Einweichen, abspülen, dann erst abnehmen; trocken wischen zerkratzt jeden Lack, hell oder dunkel. Zur Einordnung: Alle fünf Ausführungen teilen Schale, Ausstattung und Zulassung.
ECE 22.06, DOT — und was „mit Zubehör geprüft“ bedeutet
🟢 Der Viale SV S trägt ECE 22.06 und DOT. MT gibt zusätzlich an, dass der Helm die Prüfung mit allen mitgelieferten Zubehörteilen montiert bestanden hat.
Das ist eine relevante Angabe: Bei manchen Helmen gilt die Zulassung nur in der Grundkonfiguration, und Anbauteile verändern das Verhalten.
HIRP — und eine Gewichtsangabe, die man genau lesen sollte
Als Schalenmaterial nennt MT HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer, also einen spritzgegossenen Thermoplast. Das ist die übliche Bauweise in dieser Preisklasse: robust, unempfindlich gegen Anstoßen, etwas schwerer als ein Faserverbund.
🔵🔵 Beim Gewicht ist die Quellenlage unbefriedigend: Der MT-Katalog nennt rund 1,2 kg, die Produktseite des Herstellers überhaupt keine Zahl, Händler etwa 1150 g. Wir geben das als Herstellerbehauptung weiter, nicht als geprüften Wert.
Die ausklappbare Sonnenblende
🟢 Der Helm hat eine integrierte, ausklappbare Sonnenblende. Auf einem Jethelm ist das die wertvollste Einzelausstattung überhaupt, weil sie die Sonnenbrille überflüssig macht, die man sonst zusätzlich dabeihaben und aufsetzen müsste.
🔵 Zur Haltbarkeit: Die Beschichtung ist weich. Straßenstaub ist mineralisch und hinterlässt beim trockenen Wischen dauerhafte Spuren — immer erst einweichen.
Das MT-V-26B-Visier — und was dieser Helm nicht hat
🟢 Das Visier heißt MT-V-26B und ist in vier Ausführungen erhältlich: klar, dunkel, Iridium und Iridium Blau. Montiert ist die klare Version.
🔵🔵 Für dieses Visier existiert keine Pinlock-Scheibe. Bei Kälte und Nässe muss es einen Spalt offen bleiben — eine Antibeschlaglösung gibt es nicht.
Der MT-Micrometric+-Verschluss
🟢 Am Kinnriemen sitzt der MT-Micrometric+: eine Ratschenschnalle, die sich in kleinen Schritten verstellen lässt und mit einer Hand geöffnet und geschlossen wird.
Gegenüber einem Doppel-D-Ring ist das der schnellere Verschluss und für einen Helm, der im Stadtverkehr mehrmals täglich abgesetzt wird, die naheliegendere Wahl. Wer die Ratsche einmal auf seinen Hals eingestellt hat, muss danach nur noch einrasten.
Innenfutter, Passform und Reinigung
🟢 Das komplette Futter lässt sich herausnehmen und waschen. Das ist bei einem Helm, der jeden Tag getragen wird, weniger eine Frage des Komforts als der Lebensdauer: Schweiß greift Schaum und Stoff an, wenn er darin verbleibt.
Waschen Sie von Hand und trocknen Sie an der Luft. Eine Waschmaschine drückt die Schaumeinlagen zusammen, ein Trockner macht sie hart.
Interkomtauglichkeit
🟢 MT gibt den Helm als interkomtauglich an. 🔵 Ein Gerät gehört nicht dazu — die Angabe beschreibt die Eignung, nicht den Lieferumfang.
Wer eines nachrüstet, sollte wissen: In einem offenen Helm ist die Sprachqualität schwieriger als in einem geschlossenen, weil der Fahrtwind ungedämpft ans Mikrofon kommt. Ein Bügelmikrofon vor dem Mund schlägt hier jedes aufgeklebte.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
Im MT-Programm ist der Viale SV S der urbane Jethelm mit Sonnenblende — schlicht, leicht, für Stadt und Roller gedacht.
🔵 Wer Kinnschutz braucht, findet im MT-Sortiment geschlossene Modelle; dieser Helm bietet ihn nicht.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 MT führt als Ersatzteile das Visier, die Wangenpolster und das komplette Futter — jeweils einzeln bestellbar.
🔵 Unabhängig davon gilt die Regel für jeden Helm: nach etwa fünf Jahren ersetzen, auch wenn er unbeschädigt aussieht, und sofort nach jedem Aufprall. Das EPS darunter verformt sich einmal und federt nicht zurück.
