Diese Ausführung des Ready ersetzt das Rot der Schwestervariante durch Kobaltblau: glänzend schwarze Schale, darauf dieselbe klare Grafik mit dem Shark-Schriftzug an der Flanke, nur eben in Blau ausgeführt. Technisch handelt es sich um denselben Helm wie bei allen Dekoren dieser Baureihe — einen Integralhelm, dessen Besonderheit unter dem Lack liegt: Leuchtdioden im Schalenkörper, die selbsttätig aufleuchten, wenn Sie verzögern. Shark führt das als weltweit erste Serienumsetzung.
Woran der Helm erkennt, dass gebremst wird
Die Antwort ist ein Bauteil, kein Kabelbaum: ein Beschleunigungsaufnehmer, der drei Raumachsen abtastet und im Helm selbst verbaut ist. Er liest die Verzögerung Ihres Kopfes und übersetzt sie in ein Lichtmuster — drei Impulse je Sekunde bei einem gewöhnlichen Bremsvorgang, fünf bei einer scharfen Bremsung. Beide Frequenzen betreffen die roten Elemente im Heck. An der Front leuchten weiße Dioden, die von diesem Mechanismus unabhängig sind und schlicht Ihre Position im Gegenverkehr markieren. Weder eine Funkstrecke noch eine Smartphone-Anwendung ist Teil des Systems.
Was die Batterie leistet
Sie ist fest eingebaut, ein Austausch ist nicht vorgesehen. Der Ladeanschluss ist USB-C, das dazugehörige Kabel reist im Nackenschutz mit. Aus ungefähr drei Stunden Ladezeit werden etwa zwölf Stunden Leuchtbetrieb — für die meisten Fahrprofile genügt es, den Helm am Wochenende anzuschließen. Ohne Bewegung wechselt die Elektronik nach einer Minute in Bereitschaft; nach drei Tagen Untätigkeit fährt sie vollständig herunter. Die Bedienungsanleitung beschreibt zudem, was bei praktisch leerer Batterie geschieht: Der Helm lässt sich noch aktivieren, schaltet sich aber unmittelbar danach wieder aus.
Blau auf Schwarz
Kobaltblau auf glänzendem Schwarz ergibt ein Dekor, das deutlich als Farbe erkennbar ist, ohne in den Bereich greller Kombinationen zu gehen. Glänzender Klarlack lässt den Farbton satter wirken als eine matte Variante und verträgt Politur, zeigt dafür jede feine Spur, die Reißverschlüsse und Handschuhnähte hinterlassen. Zwischen dieser und der roten Ausführung gibt es keinen technischen Unterschied, die Wahl ist rein eine des Geschmacks — und im Straßenverkehr ändert sie nichts an der Wirkung der Leuchten, die von der Lackfarbe unabhängig arbeiten.
Aus welchen Schichten der Helm besteht
Ganz außen befindet sich spritzgegossenes Polycarbonat der Marke Lexan. Dahinter liegt EPS mit mehreren Dichtestufen, sodass einzelne Bereiche unterschiedlich stark komprimieren. Der Kinnriemen läuft über einen Mikrometrik-Verschluss, also eine Ratsche mit gezahntem Band: einmal eingestellt, ist die Spannung an jedem Tag identisch, und ein Zug am Bändchen öffnet sie wieder, auch mit Handschuhen. Der Doppel-D-Ring des Skwal Cup ist hier nicht verbaut.
Luftöffnungen
Die Belüftung führt Luft über mehrere Kanäle von vorn nach hinten. Shark beziffert die Öffnungen nicht, eine unabhängige Testredaktion zählt vier Einlässe an der Front und zwei Extraktoren am Hinterkopf. Ob sich die Einlässe im Betrieb verschließen lassen, geht aus den Unterlagen nicht hervor.
Zur Scheibe
Der Skwal i3 trägt ein Visier aus der VZ400-Reihe, die auch D-Skwal 3, Ridill 2, Skwal Cup und Skwal i Cup nutzen. Die Einstufung lautet optische Klasse 1, die Dicke fällt von drei auf 2,2 Millimeter ab, und ein Vortex-Generator ist Bestandteil der Form. Die Oberfläche ist kratzfest ausgeführt. Ein Pinlock-70-Einsatz liegt bereits ein und lässt sich in der Anpressung nachziehen, was bei niedrigen Temperaturen und Regen unmittelbar zählt. Für den Wechsel genügt der zentrale Griff mit Mittelverriegelung. Sharks photochrome IRID-Scheiben sind für dieses Modell nicht freigegeben — die Liste führt AERON GP, AERON und RACE R PRO.
Sonnenblende, Brille, Sprechanlage
Die innenliegende Blende wird über einen Schieber am Oberkopf bedient. Das Futter ist für Brillengestelle ausgelegt, die Bügel werden geführt statt gedrückt. Kommunikationssysteme der Reihen Sharktooth und SENA lassen sich ohne Umbau anbringen. Auf den gesamten Helm gibt Shark fünf Jahre Garantie.
Das Gewicht in der Praxis
Die Herstellerangabe beträgt 1.570 Gramm, bezogen auf die erste und kleinste Schalengröße. Eine unabhängige Presseerprobung nennt genau denselben Wert, ohne die Größe zu benennen. Mehr gibt die Quellenlage nicht her, und eine Zahl für Größe M entsteht hier nicht durch Schätzung. Warum Gewicht überhaupt in eine Beschreibung gehört: Der Nacken hält die Masse während der gesamten Fahrt, nicht nur beim Aufsetzen, und auf langen Etappen wird der Unterschied spürbar. Zum Einordnen: Straßenzugelassene Integralhelme in unserem Sortiment liegen etwa zwischen 1.250 und 1.800 Gramm.
Geräuschpegel
Wir führen keinen Dezibelwert, weil keine belastbare Quelle einen nennt. Stattdessen die Beobachtung aus einer unabhängigen Dauererprobung: Der Pegel liege im normalen Bereich, und es lasse sich keine einzelne Stelle der Schale identifizieren, die Windgeräusche erzeugt. Die Redaktion nennt als Ursachen das beidseits kräftige Nackenpolster und einen großzügigen Kinnvorhang. Was Sie im Sattel tatsächlich hören, hängt daneben von Ihrer Windschutzscheibe ab.
Die Norm hinter der Zulassung
Auf dem Etikett steht ECE 22.06. Diese Fassung ist in der EU seit Januar 2024 Pflicht für neu homologierte Helme und prüft erheblich mehr als ihre Vorgängerin: achtzehn Aufschlagpunkte statt fünf, mehrere Aufprallgeschwindigkeiten statt einer, dazu einen schrägen Aufprall gegen einen rauen Amboss, der Dreh- und Streifkräfte abbildet. Zusätzlich wird das Brain Injury Criterion für Rotationsbelastung ermittelt. Der Helm geht vollständig ausgerüstet in die Prüfung, mit Visier, Pinlock und montierter Funkeinheit. Die Nummer 2206 trägt keinen FIM-Zusatz, es handelt sich also um eine Straßenzulassung.
Größenangebot
Angeboten werden sechs Größen von XS bis XXL. Wie viele Rohschalen Shark dafür verwendet, ist nicht dokumentiert, und wir tragen keine geratene Zahl ein. Die Größentabelle beantwortet die einzige Frage, die beim Kauf zählt.
Preisliche Einordnung
Dieses Dekor liegt bei 349,99 €. Zum Vergleich die übrigen Straßenmodelle von Shark: Ridill 2 ab 189,99 €, D-Skwal 3 ab 219,99 €, Skwal Cup zwischen 269,99 € und 339,99 € — sämtlich ohne Leuchttechnik. Der Skwal i Cup ab 329,99 € ist der einzige weitere Helm der Marke mit demselben System. Der Mehrpreis gegenüber dem Cup fließt in Sensorik, Akku und Leuchtmittel.
Nachkauf
Weil die VZ400-Scheibe in fünf Shark-Modellen steckt und der Pinlock-70-Einsatz unter einer gemeinsamen Nummer geführt wird, bleibt die Ersatzteilversorgung über Jahre kalkulierbar. Ein zerkratztes Visier ist ein Verbrauchsteil.
Die Punkte, die fehlen
Eine SHARP-Bewertung gibt es für dieses Modell nicht; die britische Prüfstelle hat Skwal und Skwal 2 mit jeweils vier Sternen bewertet, beides ältere Helme ohne Leuchtsystem. Die Zulassung beschränkt sich auf ECE 22.06 ohne FIM-Zusatz. Es fehlen MIPS, ein elektronisches Notentriegelungssystem, Tear-off-Stifte am Visier und die IRID-Freigabe; geschlossen wird per Ratsche statt Doppel-D-Ring. Der schwerwiegendste offene Punkt betrifft die Rechtslage der Leuchte in Deutschland. Shark behauptet keine Zulassung, sondern trägt dem Fahrer in der Bedienungsanleitung auf, die Vorschriften des eigenen Landes zu prüfen, und weist für das Lichtsystem weder E-Prüfzeichen noch Homologationsnummer aus. Unsere Recherche hat keine Quelle gefunden, die eine StVZO-Konformität bestätigt, und ebenso wenig eine, die sie ausschließt. Deshalb steht hier weder eine Freigabe noch ein Verbot. Eine belastbare Antwort geben TÜV oder Zulassungsstelle, und die Bremsleuchte des Motorrads bleibt das maßgebliche Signal im Verkehr.
