Ein Motocross-Helm — Brille statt Visier
🔵 Der Falcon S ist ein Motocross-Helm: Er hat kein Visier und wird mit einer Geländebrille getragen. Die weite Brillenöffnung ist genau dafür geschnitten.
🔵 Eine Brille liegt nicht bei — sie ist ein separater Kauf und keine Nebensache: Ohne sie hat der Helm keinen Augenschutz.
Zum glänzenden Perlweiß
Perleffekt ist nicht dasselbe wie einfaches Weiß: Im Klarlack liegen feine Effektpigmente, die das Licht brechen statt es nur zurückzuwerfen. Auf einer Motocross-Schale mit ihrer ausgeprägten Kinnpartie und dem langen Schirm ergibt das eine Fläche, die je nach Blickwinkel unterschiedlich tief wirkt. 🟢 Praktisch zählt vor allem die Helligkeit, und die zählt bei einem Geländehelm doppelt. Auf der Piste ist ein heller Helm über große Entfernung auszumachen — bei Gruppenfahrten, beim Zurückbleiben, im Notfall. Und auf dem Weg dorthin, im normalen Verkehr, ist Weiß der Ton, den ein wartender Autofahrer am frühesten erfasst. 🔵 Der Preis ist die Pflege, und er ist bei einem MX-Helm höher als anderswo: Lehm, Staub und Spritzer setzen sich in jeder Kante fest, und Weiß zeigt alles davon. Glanzlack gibt es dafür leichter wieder her als eine matte Oberfläche — einweichen, abspülen, dann erst abnehmen. Ausbesserungen sind bei Effektlacken schwierig, weil die Pigmentausrichtung vom Auftrag abhängt. Zur Einordnung: Alle vier Ausführungen teilen Schale, Ausstattung und Zulassung. Ein Hinweis zur Brille, der bei jeder Farbe gilt: Helm und Brille müssen zueinander passen. Die Öffnung des Falcon S ist weit geschnitten, aber Brillenrahmen unterscheiden sich erheblich — beides sollte man gemeinsam anprobieren, bevor man sich festlegt. Eine Brille liegt dem Helm nicht bei.
ECE 22.06 — und das DOT, das der ältere Falcon hatte
🔵 Zur Zulassung ein Punkt, den man kennen sollte: Der Falcon S trägt ECE 22.06 — aber kein DOT. MT veröffentlicht für dieses Modell keine DOT-Kennzeichnung.
Der ältere „Falcon“ nach ECE 22.05 hatte eine; das ist jedoch eine andere Generation und ein anderer Helm.
HIRP und 1350 Gramm
Die Schale besteht aus HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer, ein im Spritzguss verarbeiteter Thermoplast. Sie verformt sich unter Schlag, verteilt die Last und gibt sie an den EPS-Kern darunter weiter.
🟢 Das Gewicht liegt bei rund 1350 Gramm — für einen Motocross-Helm ein normaler Wert.
Der verstellbare Schirm
🟢 Der Schirm ist verstellbar und — das ist der wichtigere Punkt — so ausgelegt, dass er unter Last abreißt statt standzuhalten.
Das klingt nach einer Schwäche und ist eine Sicherheitsfunktion: Ein Schirm, der sich bei einem Sturz in den Boden gräbt, verdreht den Kopf. Einer, der bricht, tut das nicht.
Einlässe, Auslässe und warum ein MX-Helm kühl bleibt
🟢 Ein Motocross-Helm ist der bestbelüftete Helmtyp überhaupt: mehrere Einlässe vorn und Auslässe im Heck, dazu die weite Brillenöffnung, die selbst als Einlass wirkt.
🔵 Verstellen lässt sich davon nichts — die Öffnungen sind offen. Im Winter ist das spürbar.
Der Doppel-D-Ring
🟢 Der Kinnriemen schließt über einen Doppel-D-Ring: zwei Metallringe, ein durchgezogener Riemen, keine Mechanik. Im Gelände ist das der richtige Verschluss, weil nichts verschmutzen oder klemmen kann.
Er zieht sich unter Zug selbst fester und ist stufenlos — jedes Mal exakt so straff, wie Sie ihn ziehen.

🔵 Was dieser Helm nicht hat, gehört genauso auf die Seite wie das, was er hat: kein Visier, keine innenliegende Sonnenblende und keine Interkom-Vorbereitung.
Der Augenschutz kommt von der Brille, der Blendschutz vom Schirm — und für ein Headset ist keine Aufnahme vorgesehen.
Die richtige Größe finden
🟢 Der Falcon S wird in fünf Größen von XS bis XL gebaut. Messen Sie den Kopfumfang etwa zwei Zentimeter über den Augenbrauen, an der breitesten Stelle.
🔵 Der Bereich endet bei XL — für sehr große Köpfe führt MT andere Modelle.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
Im MT-Programm ist der Falcon S der Motocross-Helm: gebaut für Strecke, Trail und Schotterwege bei Geländetempo.
🔵 Auf Asphalt ist er laut und zugig — das ist bei jedem MX-Helm so. Wer überwiegend Straße fährt, findet bei MT passendere Modelle.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Als Ersatzteile führt MT den Schirm und die Innenpolsterung — beim Schirm, der bewusst als Sollbruchstelle ausgelegt ist, die wichtigere der beiden Positionen.
🔵 Ersetzen Sie den Helm nach rund fünf Jahren unabhängig vom Zustand und sofort nach jedem Aufprall.
