Ein Kinnteil, das sich öffnet — und die P/J-Frage
🟢 Das Kinnteil öffnet über eine einzelne Taste und lässt sich damit einhändig bedienen — an der Ampel, an der Tankstelle, beim Gespräch bleibt der Helm auf dem Kopf.
🔵🔵 Was MT für dieses Modell nicht dokumentiert, ist die P/J-Doppelhomologation — jene Kennzeichnung, die das Fahren mit hochgeklapptem Kinnteil in weiten Teilen Europas erst legal macht. Prüfen Sie das Zulassungsetikett im Helm.
Zum einfarbigen Glanzweiß
Ein Klapphelm hat mehr sichtbare Trennlinien als jede andere Bauart: die Kinnteilfuge, das Scharniergehäuse, die Kante der Sonnenblendenmechanik, dazu der Heckspoiler. Eine einfarbige helle Fläche fasst das zusammen — sie lässt den Helm als einen Körper lesen, während eine Grafik die Aufmerksamkeit auf einzelne Bereiche zieht. Wer die Form sehen will und nicht die Zeichnung, ist hier richtig. 🟢 Praktisch zählt vor allem die Helligkeit. Ein Autofahrer, der an einer Einmündung wartet, tastet auf Windschutzscheibenhöhe ab, und dort sitzt Ihr Kopf — über dem Scheinwerfer, in Bewegung vor einem stehenden Hintergrund. Je heller dieses Objekt ist, desto früher wird es registriert, und der Vorsprung ist bei flachem, bedecktem Licht am größten. Dazu kommt der Wärmevorteil bei einem 1,7-Kilogramm-Helm, den man auf langen Etappen trägt. 🔵 Der Preis ist die Pflege: Weiß zeigt Insektenreste und Straßenfilm deutlich — Glanzlack gibt beides dafür leichter wieder her als Matt.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
Die Schale besteht aus HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer — und trägt einen Heckspoiler, der den Luftauslass verdeckt. Zugelassen ist der Helm nach ECE 22.06 und DOT; MT gibt an, beide Normen zu übertreffen.
🟢 Das Gewicht liegt bei rund 1,7 kg — typisch für einen Thermoplast-Klapphelm.
MT-ESP — eine Sonnenblende, die den Windabweiser trifft
🟢 Die MT-ESP-Sonnenblende ist ausklappbar und hat eine erweiterte Abdeckung, die bündig mit dem Windabweiser abschließt. Praktisch heißt das: kein heller Streifen im unteren Blickfeld, wenn die Sonne tief steht.
Zur Pflege: nie trocken abwischen — Straßenstaub ist mineralisch und zieht dauerhafte Kratzer in die Beschichtung.
MT-FSOS, MT-ESLS und die Pinlock-Scheibe im Karton
🟢 Das Visier heißt MT-V-35 und arbeitet mit zwei Mechanismen: MT-FSOS für das schnelle Öffnen, mit einer automatischen Antibeschlagstellung, und MT-ESLS für die Entriegelung mit eigener Belüftungsstellung.
🟢🟢 Eine Pinlock®-DKS512-Scheibe liegt serienmäßig bei — in dieser Preisklasse die Ausnahme, nicht die Regel.
Der Doppelhaken-Verschluss
🟢 Der Kinnriemen schließt über den MT-Micrometric+ mit einer zusätzlichen Doppelhaken-Verzahnung (MT-MDTC) gegen unbeabsichtigtes Öffnen.
Zwei Haken statt eines verteilen die Last und geben eine zweite Sicherung — bei einem Bauteil, das den Helm auf dem Kopf hält, ist das kein Zierrat.
Ein Spoiler, der den Auslass verdeckt
🟢 Der Heckspoiler verdeckt den Luftauslass — die Öffnung sitzt in der Zone mit dem niedrigsten Druck hinter dem Helm, und genau dorthin zieht die Luft von selbst. Das ist wirksamer als ein Auslass mitten in der Schale.
🔵 Eine unabhängige Messung des Durchsatzes liegt für dieses Modell nicht vor.
Innenfutter, Passform und der Windabweiser
🟢 Das Innenfutter ist vollständig herausnehmbar und waschbar. Bei einem Helm, den man täglich trägt, ist das keine Komfortfrage, sondern eine Haltbarkeitsfrage: Schweiß greift das Material an, wenn er darin bleibt.
🟢 Ein Windabweiser gehört zum Lieferumfang — er schließt den Spalt am unteren Helmrand, durch den bei einem Klapphelm der meiste Lärm kommt.
Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Der Helm ist interkomtauglich. 🔵 Ein System liegt nicht bei — der Helm bringt nur die Voraussetzung mit, nicht das Gerät.
Bei einem Klapphelm ist der Einbau in der Regel einfacher als bei einem Integralhelm, weil sich das Futter durch die geöffnete Front leichter erreichen lässt.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
Im MT-Programm ist der Atom 2 SV der Allround-Klapphelm. 🟢 Gegenüber dem Genesis R SV — rund 38 € günstiger, dieselbe HIRP-Plattform — ergänzt er DOT-Zulassung, die Visiersysteme MT-FSOS und MT-ESLS, eine beiliegende Pinlock-DKS512-Scheibe und einen Windabweiser.
Wer diese Ausstattung will, zahlt dafür eine Preisstufe.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Als Ersatzteile führt MT das Visier, die Pinlock-Scheibe, die Sonnenblende, das Futter, die Wangenpolster und den Windabweiser — alle einzeln erhältlich.
🔵 Ersetzen Sie den Helm nach rund fünf Jahren unabhängig vom Zustand und sofort nach jedem Aufprall.
