Ein Kinnteil, das sich öffnet — und die P/J-Frage
🟢 Geschlossen deckt der Atom 2 SV Kinn und Kiefer ab — das ist der größte Schutzunterschied zwischen den Helmbauarten überhaupt. Ein Jethelm leistet das nicht.
🔵 Offen ist es eine andere Frage: Die P/J-Kennzeichnung, die das Fahren mit hochgeklapptem Bügel abdeckt, ist nicht ausgewiesen — lesen Sie das Etikett am Kinnriemen.
Zur Highlands-Grafik in Weiß
Der Unterschied zwischen den beiden weißen Fassungen liegt nicht in der Farbe, sondern in der Gliederung. Wo die einfarbige Fassung die Form als geschlossenen Körper zeigt, teilt die Highlands-Zeichnung die Fläche auf und lenkt den Blick zur Seitenpartie — also genau dorthin, wo Sie im Verkehr für andere am längsten sichtbar sind: an der Kreuzung, im Spiegel des Vordermanns, beim Überholtwerden. 🟢 Der weiße Grundton bleibt dabei erhalten, und das ist der Teil, der auf der Straße zählt. Was ein wartender Autofahrer zuerst erfasst, ist die große helle Fläche, nicht das Motiv darauf. 🔵 Der Preis ist die Pflege, und er ist bei einer Grafik etwas höher als bei einer einfarbigen Fläche: An den Kanten der Zeichnung setzt sich mehr fest, und dort muss man beim Reinigen genauer arbeiten. Glanzlack löst Insektenreste nach dem Einweichen dafür leicht — trocken wischen bleibt tabu.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
🟢 Ein Heckspoiler, der den Auslass verdeckt, ist die konstruktiv elegantere Lösung: Die Abrisskante, die ohnehin für die Aerodynamik da ist, erzeugt an ihrer Hinterseite einen Unterdruck — und genau dort sitzt die Öffnung.
Die Schale ist HIRP; das Gewicht liegt bei rund 1,7 kg.
MT-ESP — eine Sonnenblende, die den Windabweiser trifft
🔵 Ein Hinweis zur Pflege, der ernster gemeint ist, als er klingt: Die Sonnenblende nie trocken abwischen. Der mineralische Straßenstaub hinterlässt auf der weichen Beschichtung Kratzer, die man im Gegenlicht sieht und nicht mehr wegbekommt.
🟢 Die MT-ESP ist einzeln nachbestellbar.
MT-FSOS, MT-ESLS und die Pinlock-Scheibe im Karton
Beschlagene Visiere sind der häufigste Grund, warum Fahrer bei Regen das Visier öffnen — und genau dann verlieren sie den Schutz vor Wind und Steinschlag. 🟢 Beim Atom 2 SV ist die Pinlock®-DKS512-Scheibe deshalb serienmäßig dabei.
🟢 Zusätzlich hat das MT-FSOS eine automatische Antibeschlagstellung.
Der Doppelhaken-Verschluss
🟢 Ein Ratschenverschluss geht schneller als ein Doppel-D-Ring und lässt sich mit einer Hand öffnen. Auf einer Tour mit mehreren Halten ist das der spürbarste Unterschied im Alltag.
Beim Atom 2 SV ist er zusätzlich mit einer Doppelhaken-Verzahnung gesichert.
Ein Spoiler, der den Auslass verdeckt
🔵 Wir behaupten keine Belüftungsleistung, weil es keine unabhängige Messung gibt. Was sich sagen lässt: Der Auslass sitzt im Heckspoiler, also in der Unterdruckzone, und das Visier hat eine eigene Belüftungsrastung.
🟢 Für Pendeln und Touren ist das eine übliche Auslegung.
Innenfutter, Passform und der Windabweiser
🟢 Zur Größenwahl: Messen Sie rund um die breiteste Stelle des Kopfes, etwa ein bis zwei Zentimeter über den Augenbrauen. Ein Helm, den Sie mit geschlossenem Riemen nach vorn vom Kopf rollen können, ist zu groß.
🔵 Bei einem 1,7-Kilogramm-Klapphelm zeigt sich eine schlechte Passform früher als bei einem leichten Helm — die Masse arbeitet gegen jeden Fehler.
Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Prüfen Sie vor dem Kauf eines Interkoms den Durchmesser der Lautsprecher — das ist die Angabe, an der Nachrüstungen am häufigsten scheitern.
🔵 Beim Atom 2 SV ist der Helm vorbereitet, ein System aber nicht enthalten.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
🟢 MT-Helmets fertigt in Spanien. Der Atom 2 SV ist innerhalb des Programms der besser ausgestattete der beiden Klapphelme — mit DOT, beiliegender Pinlock-Scheibe und zwei Visiersystemen.
🔵 Was ihm fehlt, ist eine dokumentierte P/J-Homologation.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Zur Pflege: Waschen Sie das Futter ein paar Mal pro Saison von Hand. Visier und Sonnenblende niemals trocken abwischen — Straßenstaub zerkratzt beide dauerhaft.
🔵 Und einmal im Jahr: Drehpunkt und Dichtungen des Kinnteils prüfen.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
