DescriptionThe whole story▼
Developed alongside Ducati Corse factory world champion Pecco Bagnaia and cleared for FIM-regulated competition, the Suomy S1-XR GP in Carbon Hypersonic Blue is an uncompromising racing helmet that carries its track credentials directly onto the road. Every detail of the shell architecture, aerodynamic form and ventilation layout exists to give you an edge when lap times and personal safety are equally non-negotiable.
Key Features
- FIM homologation plus ECE 22.06 (UNECE 22-06) approval — eligible for regulated championship racing and legal for all public roads.
- Tri-Fiber composite shell combining Kevlar/aramid fibres, carbon and fibreglass for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio at approximately 1,400 g ± 50 g (size M).
- SR-GP Evo aerodynamic design wind-tunnel validated for high-speed stability and minimised drag at racing velocities.
- Five intake vents and three exhaust vents for aggressive thermal management under sustained hard riding.
- Optical Class 1 scratch-resistant visor paired with Pinlock Max Vision 120 anti-fog insert for undistorted vision in all conditions.
- Camel-Bag prepared interior, quick-release visor mechanism and emergency-release cheek pads for race-ready practicality.
Shell Construction and Protection
The multi-layer Tri-Fiber shell is where the S1-XR GP earns its racing pedigree. By combining Kevlar/aramid fibres, woven carbon and fibreglass in a single composite laminate, Suomy achieves the rigid impact resistance demanded by FIM technical regulations without the weight penalty that compromises rider fatigue over race distances. At around 1,400 g in size M, this is a helmet you genuinely forget you are wearing by the third stint.
The double-D ring retention system — the preferred closure of serious circuit riders — ensures the helmet stays precisely positioned under the lateral and rotational forces generated at racing speeds. Emergency-release cheek pads allow medical personnel to remove the helmet safely should the rider be unable to assist.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
The SR-GP Evo outer form was refined in a wind tunnel. At the speeds this helmet is designed for, aerodynamic lift and buffeting are genuine performance limiters; the profile of the S1-XR GP keeps the rider's head planted and reduces neck-muscle fatigue on fast straights. The five-inlet, three-outlet ventilation circuit draws cool air directly across the crown and channels warm air out at the rear, maintaining a comfortable cockpit temperature even during high-intensity laps in warm conditions.
Optics and Anti-Fog Performance
The Optical Class 1 visor meets the highest optical standard in the ECE 22.06 regime, meaning zero measurable distortion across the field of view — critical when reading a braking marker at 200 km/h. The included Pinlock Max Vision 120 insert creates a sealed air gap that prevents condensation forming on the lens interior, so cold-morning track days and damp road sessions are handled with equal confidence. A quick-release mechanism lets you swap visors in seconds at the paddock without tools.
Comfort and Everyday Usability
Despite its full racing specification, the S1-XR GP is road-ready and liveable. The removable, washable inner lining manages moisture and hygiene over long mileage, while the Camel-Bag preparation means you can route a hydration system through the shell for endurance riding or racing. The interior geometry accommodates spectacle wearers thanks to a dedicated cutout, though the close race fit should be assessed in person before purchase. Bluetooth audio systems can be fitted via universal third-party mounts; no dedicated Suomy SRL integration is specified for this model.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Suomy S1-XR GP K6SX0006 is a universal full-face racing helmet suitable for any motorcycle where rider protection and aerodynamic performance are the priority. It is FIM approved for use in sanctioned competition. Size availability in this Hypersonic Blue finish includes S and M; consult the size guide below before ordering.
