The multi finish is the one that refuses to settle on a colour. Turn the helmet in your hands and the visor runs from violet through green to gold depending on where the light is coming from and where you are standing.
Be honest about why you would buy it
In terms of how much light it stops, the multi sits close to the plain silver. It is not a more effective visor; it is a more theatrical one. That is a legitimate reason to buy a visor and we would rather say so plainly than dress the effect up as a performance advantage. On a carbon shell it is the loudest option Nolan makes for this helmet.
How the shifting colour happens
The coloured layer is applied so that its optical thickness varies, and the wavelength it reflects most strongly changes with the angle at which light passes through it. Hence the shift. It is the same effect that puts colour in a soap film, applied deliberately.
Where it is allowed
Nowhere on the public road. This is a circuit visor with no European road approval, unsuitable for night riding and for use in anything less than good light.

Standard X-804 lens beneath the coating: Lexan polycarbonate from Nolan's Italian tooling, flat Ultrawide aperture, anti-scratch treatment on both faces, Pinlock pins fitted, no tools needed to change it, and a single part number covering all four shell sizes. Clean it wet — an angle-shifting coating shows wipe marks more readily than a plain one.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
