The padded sleeves that sit on the chin strap of the Nexx X.WED3. They are the part of the helmet that touches your throat and the underside of your jaw, which is why they take more sweat, sunscreen and road dust than almost anything else in the interior. Nexx lists removable chin strap covers among the standard features of the X.WED3, so the originals can be swapped without touching the strap or the double D-ring buckle.
Why riders replace them
On an adventure helmet the covers often get the roughest treatment: dust from gravel roads works into the fabric, the edges rub against jackets and neck braces, and frequent washing slowly flattens the padding. Once a cover is discoloured, frayed or no longer stays in place, a fresh pair makes the strap comfortable again and keeps the area around the buckle clean. Riders who share a helmet or buy a used one also like to start with new covers for hygiene reasons.
M or L: which one fits
The covers come in two versions. Nexx distributor data (matched by EAN) assigns them as follows:
- M for X.WED3 helmet sizes XXS to L
- L for X.WED3 helmet sizes XL to XXXL

What you receive
The X.WED3 covers are sold as a pair, one for each side of the strap. They are black and made to match the original X.WED3 interior.
Covers, not the strap
This article replaces only the fabric covers. The strap webbing, the double D-ring and, on the carbon versions, the X-Lock magnetic button stay on the helmet. If the strap itself is cut or frayed, or the buckle is damaged, have the helmet checked instead of relying on new covers.

Yes — the cheek pads are channelled so the arms of your glasses slide in comfortably.
Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
