Genuine LS2 replacement chin vent cover for the FF901 Advant X in gloss black, part 800901AVC12. The chin vent is the intake that clears the visor and cools your face, and on a flip-up it does a third job as well: it supplies air to the most enclosed part of the helmet, the section directly in front of your mouth. It also sits at the very front of the shell, which makes it the first component to meet a stone thrown up by the vehicle in front.
Vent covers are the cheapest thing on a helmet to break and among the most annoying to live without. A missing slider means a vent stuck open in winter or shut in summer; a cracked housing whistles. Neither justifies a new helmet, and neither has to be tolerated.
Match the finish to your shell before ordering. Gloss black suits the Solid Gloss Carbon and the three gloss Future II decors; against a matt shell it will catch light the rest of the helmet does not. Fitting takes a couple of minutes and a screwdriver.
