DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered from the ground up for the stock forks of the BMW S1000RR K67, the K-Tech DDS Closed SBK Cartridge Kit represents the pinnacle of precision suspension engineering. Every component — from the large-bore 20 mm piston to the 31 mm control valves — is manufactured to the exacting tolerances demanded by riders competing at British Superbike and Isle of Man TT level, yet fully adjustable for track-day and club-racing use.
Key Features
- 30-way independent compression and rebound adjustment for granular, repeatable fine-tuning on any circuit
- Patented DDS (Direct Damping System) design actively eliminates cavitation, ensuring consistent damping performance lap after lap
- 20 mm piston paired with 31 mm control valves maximises oil flow and delivers rapid, accurate damping response
- Asymmetric, independently operating damping circuits increase reaction speed and ride feedback
- 18 mm preload adjustment range for precise spring-rate matching to rider weight and track conditions
- Increased stroke of 125 mm (+8 mm over standard) broadens the usable suspension window on circuit
- Race-proven across British Superbike championship rounds and the Isle of Man TT
Build Quality and Materials
The DDS Closed cartridge system is built around an 8 mm piston rod that reduces system offset and minimises unwanted flex under hard braking. The 31 mm control piston is machined to exceptionally tight tolerances, giving the rider direct, unfiltered feedback from the front contact patch. K-Tech's patented closed-cartridge architecture uses spring-generated preload to keep the hydraulic circuit fully pressurised at all times, eliminating the air ingestion that causes conventional open cartridges to cavitate and fade under sustained track stress. The result is a damping curve that remains linear and predictable whether you are threading through a tight chicane or carrying maximum speed through a fast sweeper.
Performance on Circuit
The asymmetric damping circuit arrangement means compression and rebound are truly independent — adjustments to one circuit produce no cross-interference in the other. With 30 clicks of adjustment on each circuit, setup changes are small, consistent and fully repeatable between sessions. The recommended baseline of 16 compression clicks, 18 rebound clicks and 10 mm of preload provides a strong starting point, while the 175 mm recommended oil-and-air column height further refines the progression curve. Three pairs of springs from the 36-260 series are supplied, allowing the correct spring rate to be matched to the rider before the cartridge is ever installed.
Important Notice
Due to the increased stroke of 125 mm and the additional overall length of +8 mm relative to the standard cartridge, this kit is not homologated for Superstock 1000 class competition. Professional installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended to ensure correct setup, maximum safety and full performance.
Fitment and Compatibility
Designed and calibrated specifically for the original (OEM) fork legs of the BMW S1000RR K67 produced between 2019 and 2026. Not compatible with aftermarket fork tubes or non-K67 S1000RR variants without prior consultation with K-Tech.
