The EVO Spoiler in clear, the transparent version of the replacement aerofoil for the AGV Pista GP RR S. It is the one finish that works on every livery in the range, because it takes the colour of whatever is underneath it.
What a clear spoiler looks like on a helmet
Not invisible. A clear polycarbonate aerofoil picks up the shell colour at its base and goes lighter towards the trailing edge, which on a carbon helmet reads as a pale smoked fin rather than a coloured one. On the Soleluna it lets the yellow through; on a matt carbon it looks like frosted glass.
The one thing it does not hide is dirt. Insect residue and brake dust sit in the radius where the spoiler meets the shell, and on a clear part you see all of it. Rinse before you wipe, as you would a visor.
The job it does
It manages the wake behind the shell, which is where buffeting comes from, and it generates a small download against the lift a helmet builds at speed. AGV measures that lift at 1.6 kg at 160 km/h for this family of helmets, which is roughly the weight of the helmet itself.
Fitting
Three plastic screws, supplied. The screws are meant to shear in a slide so that the spoiler leaves the helmet rather than catching on anything, so do not replace them with metal ones.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
