DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's own version list for the XCX splits 2016 into two entries, the standard-height bike and a LOW version built with a reduced seat height for riders who wanted the Explorer's off-road ability without the reach to the ground that comes with it. Accossato lists the AGS118 for the Tiger Explorer XCX in that one model year, a silver clutch lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in the original form for the Triumph Tiger Explorer XCX
- Accossato's entry covers the 2016 model year, including the LOW version
- Silver
- Left of the handlebar, hydraulic clutch
- An original spare parts type, developed for good value for money
- Accossato states that its manufacturing process improves resistance after damage
- One lever per pack
- No German ABE, no test mark; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Both seat-height versions of the XCX get the same part: the AGS118, one of Accossato's original spare parts types, priced for an ordinary repair and shaped to match the clutch lever this bike was supplied with regardless of which specification a particular example left the factory as. A stated improvement in resistance after damage is the only performance claim attached, with nothing said about material or dimension, and nothing added here. The fitment colour is silver.
Two Seat Heights, One Lever
A lower seat height changes how a rider sits on the bike and how confidently they can plant both feet at a standstill, which matters a great deal to shorter riders on a tall adventure tourer, but it has no bearing on the clutch lever itself: the control sits at the same point on the bar regardless of which version of the XCX a particular machine is. Accossato's catalogue reflects that by listing one code for both the standard and the LOW specification, which is worth knowing if a bike's exact seat height is uncertain or if a lever is being ordered for a machine bought without full documentation. The only adjustment worth making after fitting the new lever is the span itself, set for the individual rider's hand rather than left wherever the previous lever happened to sit.
Fitment and Compatibility
Neither seat-height version of the XCX has an original-type brake lever in our records, and no CNC lever is currently catalogued for this variant, so the AGS118 stands as the sole entry here. The same clutch code runs through the rest of the Tiger Explorer line and reaches the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré beyond it.
Road Approval
No approval documents were supplied with the AGS118, so no German ABE can be quoted, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
