DescriptionThe whole story▼
Both finishes of the NIKEN's front brake lever cover exactly the same years, 2018 to 2020, which makes colour rather than model year the only thing that decides which code applies to a particular bike. Accossato lists the AGD287 for the NIKEN across those years, a black front brake lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the Yamaha NIKEN
- Accossato's entry covers 2018 to 2020
- Black
- Right of the handlebar, front brake
- An original spare parts type rather than a tuning component
- Accossato reports increased resistance after damage or collisions
- A single lever per pack
- No approval documentation held; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The unusual chassis beneath it does not change Accossato's pricing for the AGD287 either, still built to the cost of an ordinary repair within its original spare parts range. The shape taken is that of the black-finished brake lever offered on the NIKEN. A claim of better resistance after damage is stated without a figure or a material attached, and none is supplied here. Black is the colour.
Colour, Not Year, Settles the Question
With both the silver AGD221 and this black AGD287 covering exactly the same 2018 to 2020 window, there is no shortcut through the model year to work out which lever a particular NIKEN needs; the only reliable method is to check the finish of the lever already fitted, assuming it has not already been replaced with the wrong one. This is a cleaner situation than some of the other Yamaha naked bikes in this catalogue, where the two finishes often cover different, overlapping spans, and it means an owner only has one variable to confirm rather than two before placing an order. Fitting the correct lever afterwards is the same short job as on any other bike in this range: a clean, lightly greased pivot and an angle set to the rider's own hand.
Fitment and Compatibility
As with the silver AGD221, this black AGD287 is listed for the NIKEN across 2018 to 2020 exactly, with no clutch lever catalogued for the model. Beyond the NIKEN, the black finish also fits the BMW G310GS and the Yamaha MT-09. Accossato's CNC levers for this fitment are the EDF016 and ESY688.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test mark can be shown for the AGD287, since no approval documents were supplied, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
