DescriptionThe whole story▼
The NX500 arrived in 2024 as Honda's updated take on its five-hundred twin in adventure clothing, taking over from a model that had been on the road for years under a different name. Buyers of a new bike rarely think about spare levers, but a first drop in a gravel car park comes sooner than anyone expects, and a bent brake lever is the usual souvenir. Accossato lists the AGD207 for the NX500 of 2024, a silver front brake lever in the shape of the original.
Key Features
- Brake lever in the original shape for the Honda NX500
- Accossato's entry covers the 2024 model year
- Silver
- Right-hand lever, front brake
- One of Accossato's original spare parts types
- Accossato credits its manufacturing method with better resistance after a fall
- Supplied as a single lever
- No German ABE, no test mark; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGD207 is one of Accossato's original spare parts types, a range built to put a familiar shape back on the handlebar at a sensible price. On the NX500 that means a lever whose blade follows the one Honda supplied, with no change to how the front brake is reached. Accossato states that the way these levers are produced leaves them more resistant after damage or a fall, and it gives the colour for this application as silver. Beyond the colour and the shape the manufacturer publishes nothing, so nothing more is described here.
Same Lever, New Name
One detail makes ordering easy for the NX500: Accossato lists the same brake lever for a long line of Honda twins, the CB500X included, and that is the model the NX500 followed. The consequences are practical. A dealer or a riding companion with an older five-hundred twin may already have the part on the shelf, and a rider who owns two bikes from the family can keep a single spare for both. It also means the photographs on our product pages deserve a careful look, because a lever listed for many models is one you can check against your own with confidence. When the time comes to fit it, the job is short: put the bike on level ground or a stand, take out the pivot, clean the bore and give it the thinnest smear of grease, then fit the new lever so that it works the master cylinder piston cleanly with the free play named in the handbook. Confirm the brake light, then squeeze the lever repeatedly at rest until the pressure point feels firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entry for the NX500 covers the 2024 model year. The same AGD207 is listed with us for the CB500F, the CB500X and the CBR500R, and for several larger Hondas besides, which is why it pays to compare the photograph with the lever on your own bike before ordering. Accossato does not list an original-type clutch lever for the NX500, so only the right-hand side is covered by this range. For a tuning part instead of a spare, Accossato catalogues the CNC brake lever EDF018 for this machine.
Road Approval
For the AGD207 we have no German ABE and no test mark, because no approval papers have been made available to us; it is listed as a part for racing and competition.
