DescriptionThe whole story▼
Converting the Triumph SPEED TRIPLE 1050's clutch from a cable to hydraulic operation is what the HS052 kit does, fitting a 13.5 mm piston pump, a dedicated clutch hose and the AT002-54-63 actuator in place of the standard lever mechanism. Accossato builds it in Italy, pitches it as lightweight and easy to install, and aims it at cutting the effort the lever demands. Fitting should go through a qualified workshop, after which the system is filled, bled and its operation checked; only DOT 4 fluid is specified.
Key Features
- Converts the cable-operated clutch to hydraulic operation
- Clutch pump with a 13.5 mm piston
- Clutch hose included
- AT002-54-63 actuator specific to this application
- Lightweight, made in Italy
- Said by Accossato to reduce lever effort and need little maintenance
- DOT 4 fluid only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato replaces the SPEED TRIPLE's factory cable with a clutch pump machined to a 13.5 mm piston, routed through a dedicated hose to the AT002-54-63 actuator at the gearbox. The kit is built in Italy and kept light rather than adding complexity to the clutch assembly. Accossato's own description puts maintenance at a minimum once the system has been bled and is in use, with DOT 4 the only fluid listed as suitable.
A Production Run With a Gap in the Middle
Triumph built the 1050 SPEED TRIPLE from 2005 to 2007, paused the model, then brought it back from 2011 to 2015, a break in production that means two distinct windows rather than one continuous run. Accossato's data treats both periods as covered by the same HS052 kit, so a 2006 bike and a 2013 bike both take the identical clutch pump, hose and actuator despite the years in between when the model was not being built. For an owner unsure which of the two windows their particular bike falls into, that removes the need to pin the registration date down exactly before ordering.
Fitment and Compatibility
Both production windows of the Triumph SPEED TRIPLE 1050, 2005 to 2007 and 2011 to 2015, are confirmed for this kit in the Fitment tab on this page. The identical clutch pump, hose and AT002-54-63 actuator also go into the kits sold separately for a pair of BMW roadsters and a long-running Kawasaki naked bike, none of which changes the parts supplied here.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the HS052; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use.
