DescriptionThe whole story

Green is rare on helmets at any price and this is the only one MT offers on the Track SV. Under a matt finish it reads as an earth tone rather than as a sporting colour, which suits a helmet designed for gravel and country roads.

Four SHARP stars — the only MT helmet that has any

Independent testing is the only way to compare helmets across brands, because the legal standard is a pass mark rather than a scale. For MT, the Track SV is the one helmet that has been through it.

🔵 The result: 4 stars out of 5, April 2026, ECE 22.06, measured at 1.6 kg. You can check it yourself on the SHARP website.

About the Questor B6 graphic

A deep green under matt belongs to the landscape adventure bikes are actually ridden in rather than to a race paddock, and that is a genuinely different register from the rest of this range. It is also a durable choice: green carries no reference to a particular season's palette, so it will look current in five years in a way a bright graphic will not. Practically it sits mid-range — better at hiding trail dust than the white, more visible in flat light than the black. 🔵 Matt is washed rather than polished, and it holds dry dust more readily than gloss. It is also the only version here that will not look out of place on a bike finished in the muted greens and sands most current adventure machines wear. Conspicuity sits between the black and the white — better than the matt black in flat autumn light, well short of the gloss red on a wet motorway. For riding that is mostly gravel and country roads rather than commuting, that middle ground is the right place to be.

Dual-sport — a full-face with a peak

🔵 The peak is the part that defines this helmet visually and the part that costs you most at speed. Above about 100 km/h a peak generates both noise and lift, and no design eliminates that entirely.

In exchange it does real work off tarmac: shade at low sun angles, and deflection of spray and stones thrown by the rider ahead.

HIRP, ECE 22.06 — and two different weights

The structure is conventional and appropriate: an injection-moulded HIRP shell to spread the load and resist penetration, over a polystyrene liner that absorbs energy by permanently crushing.

🔵 A crushed liner does not recover. After a real impact the helmet is finished, whatever it looks like from outside — four SHARP stars or not.

The MT-ESP retractable sun visor

If you wear prescription glasses, a retractable shield is far more practical than prescription sunglasses or a tinted visor — it goes up and down without removing anything, which on a helmet taken off at every trail stop is worth a great deal.

🔵 The Track SV's is the MT-ESP type, deployed from a single slider.

The HS-12 visor and the anti-fog insert you buy separately

🔵 Two things you will want alongside this helmet: an anti-fog insert — Pinlock DKS 623 or FogOff — and an intercom if you use one. Neither is supplied.

Even with the insert added, the total stays below MT's dearer full-face models.

ERS — the Emergency Release System

Two pieces of the Track SV's specification exist for people other than the rider: the ERS emergency release, and the SHARP rating that lets you compare the helmet against others objectively.

🔵 Both are unusual at 136 €, and both are verifiable rather than marketing.

Interior, fit and intercom preparation

Washing the interior is a job you will do often on a dual-sport helmet, and the ERS pulls make the side pads a quick operation. The quick-drying fabric means it is usable again the same evening.

🔵 The UCS intercom pre-installation sits alongside it; the system itself is a separate purchase.

The micrometric closure

A closure is the least glamorous part of a helmet and the one that has to work every single time. The Track SV's is a micrometric ratchet with a double-tooth engagement — quick, precise and glove-friendly.

🔵 It needs its adjustment checked every few months, which a double-D ring does not.

Where it sits in MT's range

🔵 If you are comparing dual-sport helmets across brands, the two questions worth asking are which ECE revision the helmet holds and whether it has been independently tested. Most helmets at this price answer „22.06" and „no".

The Track SV answers 22.06 and four SHARP stars, which is a genuinely unusual combination at 136 €.

When something wears out

🔵 The anti-fog insert is the first accessory most owners buy, because it is not supplied and a cold morning mists the visor at every stop. The code for the HS-12 visor is DKS 623; a FogOff insert is the alternative.

Both are consumables — the seal loses grip and the surface clouds after a few seasons.

“Full marks on off-road kit and an independent four-star crash-test result behind it. It is 250 g heavier than the Nexx carbon and the padding is plainer, which is where the price difference actually shows.”
