Technisches Detail
Das Kugelrampensystem von STM ist das Herzstück der FDU-S070. Bei normaler Beschleunigung verriegeln die Rampen das Lamellenpaket für vollen, sauberen Kraftschluss. Sobald die Motorbremswirkung eine kalibrierte Schwelle überschreitet – bei einem harten Rückschaltvorgang oder abruptem Gaswegnehmen – lassen die Rampen den Korb relativ zur Nabe durchrutschen und bauen so das überschüssige Drehmoment ab, bevor es das Hinterrad erreicht. Das Ergebnis ist ein Hinterrad, das satt aufliegt statt zu hüpfen, und ein Fahrwerk, das genau dann berechenbar bleibt, wenn Präzision am meisten zählt.
Die Tellerfeder ersetzt das herkömmliche Schraubenfeder-Paket und eliminiert das Schwingen, das bei Serienkupplungen zum Taumeln der Druckplatte führt. Das Hebelgefühl wird spürbar leichter und linearer, was die Ermüdung der Hand über eine volle Renndistanz oder eine lange sportliche Ausfahrt reduziert. Die verringerte rotierende Masse lässt den Motor zudem freier drehen und ansprechen – ein spürbarer Gewinn an einem so charaktervollen Triebwerk wie dem L-Twin der Panigale 959.
Einsatz auf Rennstrecke und Straße
Auf der Rennstrecke verändert die FDU-S070 den Kurveneinfahrt-Charakter der Panigale 959 grundlegend. Wo die Serienkupplung Hinterradstempeln und Instabilität in der Kurvenmitte zulassen kann, hält die STM-Einheit das Motorrad ruhig und den Fahrer auf die Linie fokussiert. Auf der Straße bringt dieselbe Anti-Hopping-Wirkung ein spürbares Plus an Sicherheit: Ein einzelner, zu aggressiver Rückschaltvorgang birgt kein Risiko mehr für eine unberechenbare Hinterradreaktion.
