Die 701 Supermoto und die 701 Enduro sind dasselbe Motorrad mit anderen Rädern. Felgen, Reifen, Federweg und Übersetzung unterscheiden sie; Motor, Rahmen und Luftfilterkasten nicht. Viele Besitzer halten beide Konfigurationen bei nur einem Motorrad vor und tauschen die Radsätze fürs Wochenende. Genau diese Tatsache sollte über das Filtermedium entscheiden, denn PM74T12 ist für eine Fahrweise spezifiziert, nicht für einen Modellnamen – und der Name auf dem Tank ist die eine Information, die nicht verrät, wie diese konkrete Maschine ihr Jahr verbringt.

Bleiben die Supermoto-Räder die ganze Saison montiert und lebt das Motorrad auf Asphalt, ist dies das falsche Ende der Baureihe: 7 Mikron bei 560 Liter pro Quadratmeter und Sekunde gegenüber den 80 Mikron und 5.050 des Standardgewebes sind etwa ein Neuntel des Durchflusses, bezahlt bei jeder Fahrt für eine Beladung, die meistens nie kommt. Kommen die Enduro-Räder für ganze Wochenenden zum Einsatz, befährt das Motorrad unbefestigte Straßen, oder wird es in Gesellschaft gefahren, wo die eigene Luft von der Maschine davor bestimmt wird, leistet das feinere Medium echte Arbeit. Die Frage ist eine der Proportion, und nur der Besitzer kann sie beantworten.
Der Tausch, unverblümt formuliert
Feiner bedeutet mehr zurückgehalten und weniger durchgelassen, in dieser Reihenfolge und immer. Hier gibt es keine Stufe zu erklimmen: Ein T12 ist kein Upgrade gegenüber dem Standardelement, und das Standardelement ist keine billige Version eines T12. Beide sind zwei Antworten auf zwei verschiedene Arten von Luft, und das feinere füllt sich zudem schneller, sodass der Deckel öfter abkommt. Auch macht keines von beiden eine Standard-701 spürbar schneller – ein Element in einem unveränderten Gehäuse hat dafür keinen Mechanismus. Was ein trockenes Medium bietet, ist ein Widerstand, den man mit Druckluft zurücksetzt statt mit einem Neukauf.
Pflege und Reinigung
Luft von der sauberen Seite nach außen, damit die Beladung auf demselben Weg zurückgedrängt wird, auf dem sie eindrang, statt tiefer ins Material. Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, wenn Luft nicht ausreicht, danach spülen, bis nichts mehr abgeht. Getrocknet wird ausschließlich an der Luft, mit Abstand zu Hitze und Flamme, und ein feines Medium braucht länger, als man erwartet – erst wieder einbauen, wenn es vollständig durchgetrocknet ist. Passform & Kompatibilität
Für die Husqvarna 701 Supermoto, gebaut von 2016 bis 2026. Zwei Maschinen tragen diesen Code, die 701 Supermoto und die 701 Enduro, beide im Fitment-Tab aufgeführt. Die KTM 690 SMC R / Enduro R nutzt denselben Luftfilterkasten, ist aber nur für das Standardmedium gelistet.
