Voge hat die Trofeo 300AC für zwei Modelljahre katalogisiert, 2020 und 2021, sodass fast jedes noch fahrende Exemplar mindestens einen Besitzerwechsel vor sich hat. Das wirft ein ungewöhnliches Licht auf einen Filter, der für die Lebensdauer des Motorrads gebaut ist. Fast alles andere an einem Motorrad ist entweder verbraucht, bevor es verkauft wird, oder wird abmontiert, bevor die Fotos entstehen. Das SM257P14 ist keins von beidem. Es bleibt, wo es eingebaut wurde, es wird nicht verbraucht, und es geht mit den Schlüsseln über.

Ein Teil, das mit dem Motorrad übergeht
Seien wir ehrlich über das Ausmaß: Ein sauberes Element erhöht den Preis eines gebrauchten 300ers um nichts, und niemand fragt nach dem Luftfilterkasten, bevor das Geld den Besitzer wechselt. Der Wert liegt auf der anderen Seite des Verkaufs. Wer das Motorrad übernimmt, erbt eine Wartungsliste, der ein wiederkehrender Punkt fehlt, denn dieses Element wird gereinigt und wieder eingesetzt, statt neu bestellt zu werden – und für ein Modell, dessen Produktionsfenster 2021 endete, ist ein Teil, das nie wieder bestellt werden muss, mehr wert, als es scheint. Es wird zudem in einem Zustand übergeben, für den man einstehen kann: Man kann es am Morgen, an dem das Motorrad den Besitzer wechselt, sauber wieder einsetzen.
Der Kompromiss, den das feinere Medium verlangt
Das Straßengewebe von Sprint Filter hält bei 80 Mikrometern mit einem Wert von 5.050 Litern pro Quadratmeter und Sekunde. Dieser Vliesstoff hält bei 14 und trägt 1.800. Rückhaltung und Durchfluss bewegen sich jedes Mal in entgegengesetzte Richtungen, was die Wahl zu einer Frage der Bedingungen macht, nicht des Rangs. Und die Grenze ist es wert, ohne Umschweife genannt zu werden: Kein Element in einem Standard-Luftfilterkasten verleiht einem 300er-Einzylinder eine Leistung, die er nicht hatte. Was es liefert, ist ein Ansaugwiderstand, der niedrig beginnt und bei jeder Wartung wieder auf niedrig gesetzt wird, dazu ein Teil, das mit Druckluft regeneriert statt immer wieder neu gekauft wird.
Pflege und Reinigung
Das SM257P14 braucht nur Druckluft, von der sauberen Seite nach außen angewendet, sodass der Schmutz denselben Weg zurücklegt, auf dem er hereinkam, statt tiefer ins Material zu gelangen. Hinterlässt Luft einen Rückstand, entfernen ihn lauwarmes Wasser und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel; spülen Sie, bis das Wasser klar bleibt. Es trocknet danach in bewegter Luft bei normaler Raumtemperatur und weit entfernt von jeder Wärmequelle, denn ein Heizkörper, eine Heißluftpistole oder eine Flamme zerstören es innerhalb von Sekunden. Es wird trocken wieder eingesetzt, ohne dass etwas aufgetragen wird. Das Wartungsblatt finden Sie im Downloads-Tab.
