Bei der 125 Duke ist die Preisliste nicht ordentlich. Der Eintrag, der dieses Modell seit 2017 bedient, wurde nie geschlossen, und der PM293P14 beginnt 2024, sodass eine 2025 gebaute Maschine zwei Sprint-Filter-Codes vorfindet, die ihren Namen tragen. Das ist unordentliche Verwaltung und kein Fehler bei einem der beiden Elemente, aber es hat eine praktische Konsequenz, die man klar aussprechen sollte: Bei diesem Modell ist das Baujahr die Frage, die man stellen muss, nicht die Antwort, auf die man sich verlassen kann.

Klarheit vor der Bestellung
Zwei Dinge klären das zuverlässig. Das erste ist die Fahrzeug-Identifikationsnummer, die ein Händler mit dem werkseitigen Teilediagramm abgleichen kann, um zu sehen, mit welchem Einsatz die Maschine das Band verlassen hat. Das zweite ist der Einsatz selbst: Was auch immer aus dem Gehäuse kommt, ist die Referenz, und stimmt sein Umriss nicht mit dem zugesandten Element überein, war der Code falsch. Beides dauert nicht lange, und beides schlägt eine Schlussfolgerung aus einem Modellnamen, der gleich geblieben ist, während sich die Maschine dahinter verändert hat.
Das Medium, und die Grenzen dessen, was es leistet
Ist der Code geklärt, ist die Wahl des Materials unkompliziert. Das Standardgewebe filtert bei 80 Mikron und lässt 5.050 Liter pro Quadratmeter und Sekunde durch; dieses Vlies filtert bei 14 und lässt 1.800 durch. Mehr wird zurückgehalten, weniger kommt durch, und diese zweite Hälfte wird an sauberen Tagen ebenso bezahlt wie an schmutzigen. Sie erkauft auch keine Leistung: Kein Element, das in einen Serien-Luftfilterkasten eingesetzt wird, tut das, und eine A1-Maschine hat ihre Obergrenze durch die Führerscheinklasse festgelegt, nicht durch irgendetwas im Ansaugtrakt. Der Gewinn ist ein niedrigerer Ausgangswiderstand, der bei einer Reinigung wieder auf diesen Wert zurückkehrt, statt sich über ein Jahr hinweg still zu erhöhen.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft erledigt fast alles. Richten Sie den Luftstrahl auf die saubere Seite des PM293P14 und arbeiten Sie über das Medium nach außen, damit der Staub durch dieselbe Fläche austritt, die ihn aufgefangen hat. Einmal pro Saison, oder wann immer Luft nicht mehr ausreicht, waschen Sie es in handwarmem Wasser mit einer kleinen Menge mildem Reinigungsmittel und spülen Sie weiter nach, bis das Wasser klar durchläuft. Lassen Sie es dann an bewegter Luft, bis es vollständig trocken ist — Hitze jeder Art schädigt die Fasern — und setzen Sie es wieder ein, ohne es in irgendeiner Weise zu behandeln.
