Sprint Filter bietet nicht für jede Maschine dieselbe Auswahl an Materialien an, und dieses Element ist ein leises Beispiel dafür. Das Standardgewebe für den Luftfilterkasten der CFMOTO NK 450 ist für vier Modelle der Baureihe gelistet; das P14 vor Ihnen ist für drei gelistet. Eine Kompatibilitätsliste gehört zu einer Artikelnummer, nicht zu einem Gehäuse, sodass ein Besitzer die Frage zweimal stellen muss – einmal zum Motorrad, einmal zum Material, das hineinkommt. Für die NK 450 lauten beide Antworten zufällig Ja.

Eine Liste gehört zu einem Code
Artikelnummern werden hier um Luftfilterkästen herum gebildet, und die für einen Luftfilterkasten angebotenen Materialien werden dann Maschine für Maschine gelistet, weshalb die Zusammenstellungen nicht immer übereinstimmen. Zu wissen, dass eine CFMOTO ein bestimmtes Gehäuse verbaut, sagt einem Besitzer noch nichts darüber, welche Gewebe dafür gelistet sind. Dieselbe Sorgfalt gilt in die andere Richtung: Die Buchstaben NK stehen in der CFMOTO-Liste für fünf verschiedene Hubraumklassen und teilen sich vier Element-Codes untereinander, sodass die 675er- und 800er-Modelle eigene Gehäuse mit eigenen Nummern sind.
Was das feinere Material kauft – und was es kostet
Vierzehn Mikron gegenüber den achtzig des Standardgewebes ist ein großer Schritt, und in der Durchflussspalte wird dafür bezahlt: klassifiziert mit 1.800 l/m²/sek gegenüber 5.050. Material, das mehr zurückhält, lässt bei gegebener Fläche immer weniger durch – dies sind also auf Bedingungen abgestimmte Alternativen, keine Sprossen auf einer Leiter. Das P14 macht sich dort bezahlt, wo die Luft dem Motor wirklich zusetzt: unbefestigte Wege, Erntestaub auf dem sommerlichen Arbeitsweg, zunehmender Verkehr, lange Trockenphasen auf schottrigen Straßen. Was es am anderen Ende nicht tut, ist irgendetwas hinzuzufügen. Ein einsetzbares Element macht eine Serien-NK 450 nicht spürbar stärker, unabhängig davon, welches Gewebe im Gehäuse sitzt.
Pflege und Reinigung
Eine Wartung verbraucht hier nichts. Druckluft auf die saubere Seite, gleichmäßig über das gesamte Element geführt, schickt die Beladung durch dieselbe Seite zurück, die sie gesammelt hat. Wo sich ein öliger Film abgesetzt hat, den Luft nicht löst, hilft handwarmes Wasser mit etwas mildem Reinigungsmittel, gefolgt von gründlichem Spülen. Das Trocknen ist dann eine Frage von bewegter Luft und Geduld – nie ein Heißluftgebläse, ein Heizkörper oder eine Flamme – und das PM270P14 kehrt trocken und unbehandelt in den Luftfilterkasten zurück.
