Alles andere in dieser Reihe ist ein Gewebe. PM176P14 ist es nicht. Wo das P08 und das Renngewebe gewebtes Polyester sind, mit Fäden, die sich in zwei Richtungen kreuzen und einer Öffnung dazwischen, ist das P14 ein Vlies: Fasern, die abgelegt und verbunden statt gekreuzt werden und eine Matte ohne nennenswertes reguläres Raster bilden. Deshalb beschreibt die für die gewebten Medien angegebene Fadendurchmesserzahl hier nichts, und deshalb wird 14 Mikron in einer einzigen trockenen Lage erreicht statt durch das Stapeln mehrerer Lagen.

Warum die Materialklasse wichtig ist
Ein gewebtes Medium wird feiner, indem sein Raster enger gezogen wird, und dieser Weg erreicht einen Punkt, an dem das Gewebe fast so sehr Barriere wie Filter ist. Ein Vlies arbeitet stattdessen über die Tiefe: Partikel werden innerhalb der Dicke der Matte gehalten, nicht nur an ihrer Oberfläche, sodass eine einzige Lage selektiv sein kann, ohne zur Wand zu werden. Bei der Tuono ist das praktische Ergebnis ein Element, das auf dem Datenblatt 14 µm ausweist und trotzdem im Standardgehäuse mit Standarddicke sitzt, während die vergrößerte Oberfläche den Rest der Arbeit übernimmt.
Was sich dadurch nicht ändert
Der Tausch bleibt ein Tausch. Bei 1.800 l/m²/sek lässt dieses Medium etwa ein Drittel dessen durch, was das Standardgewebe für denselben Luftfilterkasten durchlässt, und Tiefenfiltration hebt das nicht auf – sie macht die Feinheit nur in einer einzigen Lage bezahlbar. Auch an der Leistung ändert das nichts: Ein in einen unveränderten Luftfilterkasten eingesetztes Element lässt eine homologierte nackte Zweizylinder genau das leisten, was sie mit dem Papierpanel leistete. Bauen Sie dieses Element wegen der Straßen ein, auf denen die Tuono unterwegs ist, und aus keinem anderen Grund.
Pflege und Reinigung
An der Routine ändert sich nichts, nur weil das Medium eine Matte statt eines Gewebes ist. Druckluft, auf die saubere Seite aufgesetzt und gleichmäßig über die gesamte Fläche geführt, drückt die Ladung auf ihrem Eintrittsweg zurück. Das ist die Wartung, und beim PM176P14 lohnt es sich, sie gründlich zu machen, da ein Vlies in die Tiefe fängt und eher ein Durchspülen als ein Abstauben braucht. Hartnäckige Rückstände lösen sich in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, gefolgt von einer gründlichen Spülung und einer langen, ruhigen Trocknung an normaler Luft. Nie mit Hitze – Polyester, Heißluftpistolen, Heizkörper und Flammen vertragen sich nicht – und nie mit Öl. Unter Downloads finden Sie das Pflegeblatt.
