Ein feineres Medium füllt sich früher. Das folgt daraus, was es tut – Material aufhalten, das ein gröberes Gewebe glatt durchgelassen hätte –, und wird selten so gedruckt. PM147P14 ist kein langlebigerer Filter als das Standardgewebe für diesen Luftfilterkasten; unter den Bedingungen eingesetzt, für die es gemacht wurde, verlangt es früher nach der Druckluftleitung. Dabei ist nichts falsch gelaufen. Das ist das Medium, das genau die Aufgabe erfüllt, für die es gewählt wurde, und die Gewohnheiten des Besitzers müssen sich danach richten und nicht umgekehrt.

- Direkter Tausch gegen das werkseitige Papierpanel, ohne Arbeiten am Luftfilterkasten und ohne Remapping

Hinschauen statt zählen
Da dieses Element regeneriert statt ersetzt wird, ist ihm kein festes Intervall zugeordnet, und das ist eine größere Freiheit, als es klingt. Heben Sie das Panel heraus, wann immer der Luftfilterkasten ohnehin offen ist, halten Sie es gegen das Licht und entscheiden Sie. Zwei trockene Monate auf Straßen mit Schotterrand verraten mehr als jede Seite eines Wartungshefts. Die einzige Gewohnheit, die sich zu bilden lohnt, ist, dieses Element früher zu prüfen als das Standardgewebe – zumindest so lange, bis Sie wissen, was Ihre eigenen Straßen ihm antun.
Was die zusätzliche Reinigung bringt
Alles, was die Matte zurückhält, ist Material, das sonst weiter in Richtung Drosselklappen gewandert wäre. Das ist der gesamte Ertrag, und er lässt sich besser so ausdrücken als als Leistungsversprechen, denn ein solches gibt es nicht: Ein Filter, der in einen unveränderten Luftfilterkasten eingebaut wird, steigert nicht die Leistung einer typgeprüften 1100er. Was sich ändert, ist die Größe dessen, was durchkommt, und wer entscheidet, wann die Ansaugseite behandelt wird – ein Zeitplan, oder Sie mit dem Panel in der Hand.
Pflege und Reinigung
Das PM147P14 wird trocken gewartet, mit einer an der sauberen Seite angesetzten und nach außen geführten Druckluftleitung, sodass das gesammelte Material seinen Eintrittsweg wieder verlässt. Da ein Staubmedium genau dafür gekauft wird, Dinge zurückzuhalten, nehmen Sie sich die Zeit, das gesamte Panel zu reinigen und nicht nur den offensichtlichen Teil. Wasser ist die zweite Stufe, sobald Luft nichts mehr bewirkt: lauwarm, eine kleine Menge mildes Reinigungsmittel, dann spülen, bis das ablaufende Wasser klar ist. Getrocknet wird in bewegter Luft und nirgends warm – keine Heißluftpistole, kein Heizkörper, keine Flamme, da Hitze das ist, was Polyester nicht verträgt – und das Element kehrt trocken und unbehandelt zurück.
