Ein Sporttourer wird anders belastet als die Motorräder, mit denen er einen Motor teilt. Die 703T ETC hat den zusätzlichen Windschutz und den größeren Tank für lange Tage, und an diesen Tagen trägt sie oft auch einen Sozius und Gepäck. Das treibt den Dreizylinder nicht an das obere Ende seines Drehzahlbands. Es hält ihn stundenlang in der Mitte, bei gleichmäßiger und erheblicher Last. Für einen Filter ist das die ehrlichste Prüfung, die es gibt: keine kurze Bedarfsspitze, sondern ein langer, gleichmäßiger Zug durch dasselbe Element, Stunde um Stunde.

Warum gleichmäßige Last für ein waschbares Element spricht
Auf einer langen Reise sammelt ein Element Schmutz in gleichmäßigem Tempo, und ein Papierelement wird dabei stetig restriktiver, bis jemand es ersetzt – meist in einem Intervall, das für den Durchschnitt gilt und nicht für zwei Wochen durch staubige Regionen. Ein Gewebeelement belädt sich genauso, lässt sich aber am Ende einer Reise oder beim nächsten Service in seinen Ausgangszustand zurückversetzen. Die rund doppelte Filterfläche hilft dazwischen, weil dieselbe Beladung auf mehr Gewebe dünner liegt. Nichts davon macht eine Serien-703T ETC stärker; das schafft kein Element in einer unveränderten Airbox.
Wann der T12 die bessere Wahl ist
Die 703T ETC ist die eine Maschine auf diesem Gehäuse, für die Sprint Filter auch den T12 listet, ein 7-Mikrometer-Vlies für Offroad und Extrembedingungen. Das sagt etwas darüber, wo Tourer landen. Führt eine Reise über lange unbefestigte Straßen oder durch trockenes Land, in dem die Luft sichtbar voller Staub ist, ist der T12 das Element für diese Wochen, um den Preis des größten Teils des Durchflusses. Für Touren auf Asphalt, bei jedem Wetter, ist der P08 das richtige Element, und der T12 wäre ein Tausch ohne Gegenwert.
Pflege und Reinigung
Blasen Sie den SM300S mit Druckluft von der sauberen Seite nach außen durch, damit die Beladung den Weg verlässt, auf dem sie kam. Nach einer Reise mit Insekten und Straßenfilm waschen Sie ihn in lauwarmem Wasser mit etwas mildem Spülmittel und spülen, bis es klar abläuft. Er trocknet in bewegter Luft bei Raumtemperatur, fern von Heißluftpistole, Heizkörper und Flamme, und kommt trocken wieder hinein. Das Wartungsblatt finden Sie im Reiter „Downloads“.
Passform & Kompatibilität
Für die Zontes 703T ETC von 2026. Dasselbe Element dient der 703RR von 2025 und 2026 und der 703R ETC von 2026, während die Adventure-Maschine 703F einen eigenen Code hat. Alle drei SM300S-Maschinen nennt der Reiter „Fitment“.
