Der Sprint-Filter-Katalog ist nicht nach dem Namen auf dem Tank geordnet. Er ist nach dem Luftfilterkasten geordnet, und eine Teilenummer, PM186S, ist gleichzeitig für sechs Modellnamen gelistet: die Yamaha T-150, Exciter, Jupiter MX, MX King, Sniper MXi und Y15ZR/LC150, jede davon eine 150-cc-Maschine, gebaut zwischen 2015 und 2026. Das Element ändert sich nicht mit dem Namen auf der Seitenverkleidung, und ebenso wenig die ehrliche Beschreibung dessen, was es leistet: Es hält den Ansaugwiderstand niedrig, und nützlicher noch, es hält ihn zwischen den Services stabil, statt ihn leise ansteigen zu lassen, wenn ein Papierelement zusetzt.

Nach dem Teil bestellen, nicht nach dem Namen
Nehmen Sie das Originalelement heraus, betrachten Sie die Form und den Rahmen, in dem es sitzt, und gleichen Sie es vor der Bestellung mit der Passformliste für PM186S ab. Das Sprint-Filter-Element ist so dimensioniert, dass es ohne Distanzstücke, Adapter oder Zuschnitt in dasselbe Standardgehäuse passt, und nichts anderes an der Ansaugseite wird berührt – weshalb die Umrüstung kein Remapping erfordert und die Homologation des Motorrads genau so belässt, wie sie war.
Was das Medium ist, und was die Zahlen beschreiben
Der P08 ist eine einzelne Lage gewebtes Polyester, aus Fäden ab 22 Mikron gesponnen, und wird trocken verwendet. Er filtert bei 80 Mikron und lässt 5.050 Liter pro Quadratmeter pro Sekunde durch, und diese beiden Werte gehören zusammen: Ein feineres Gewebe hält mehr zurück und lässt weniger durch. Sprint Filters eigener Vergleich maß beim trockenen P08 eine Rückhaltung von 93,13 Prozent bei 100-Mikron-Testpartikeln, gegenüber 76,42 Prozent bei einem vierlagigen geölten Baumwollfilter. Wo die Luft härtere Arbeit bedeutet, gibt es feinere Medien – das wasserabweisende P037 bei 37 Mikron, den P14 bei 14, den T12 bei 7 – und jeder Schritt nach unten kostet Durchfluss, der P14 lässt 1.800 Liter pro Quadratmeter pro Sekunde durch gegenüber den 5.050 des P08. Das ist ein Kompromiss, den man bewusst eingehen sollte, keine Leiter, die man erklimmt.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft, auf die saubere Seite gerichtet und nach außen gearbeitet, ist der Routineservice für den PM186S. Was die Luft hinterlässt, löst sich in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel; spülen Sie weiter, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Das vollständige Trocknen erfolgt danach ausschließlich an der Luft – keine Hitze, keine Flamme – und das Element wird trocken wieder eingesetzt. Anschließend wird nichts aufgetragen, da das Polyester von Anfang an nie geölt war. Das Sprint-Filter-Wartungsblatt finden Sie im Downloads-Tab.
