Ein Verschleißteil an der Voge Valico DS muss nie nachbestellt werden. Öl, Beläge und Filterpatronen kommen alle aus einer Packung; das Luftfilterelement muss das nicht. Ein Sprint Filter CM251S wird mit einer Druckluftpistole gereinigt und wieder eingesetzt, sodass der Blick in den Luftfilterkasten keine Frage des Nachschubs mehr ist, sondern eine Frage von einer Stunde am Samstag. Bei einer 2020 zugelassenen Maschine, einige Wartungsintervalle später, macht das den Unterschied zwischen einem Ansaugtrakt, der kontrolliert wird, und einem, dessen Kontrolle immer wieder verschoben wird.

Ein Wartungsintervall, das einen Nachmittag kostet
Ein Ersatzelement ist ein kleiner Kauf, der sich endlos wiederholt, und jede Wiederholung lässt sich um eine weitere Wartung verschieben. Genau so werden die Ansaugtrakte gut gepflegter Motorräder vernachlässigt: nicht aus Nachlässigkeit, sondern durch eine Reihe vernünftiger Aufschübe, von denen jeder auf eine Lieferung wartet. Fällt der Kauf weg, bleibt nur die Arbeit übrig, und die ist kurz. Das ist kein Leistungsversprechen. Ein Einbauelement macht eine Serien-Valico-DS nicht spürbar schneller, was der Handel drumherum auch behaupten mag. Es hält den Ansaugtrakt auf einem konstanten Widerstand und bringt ihn dorthin zurück, wann immer man sich dazu entscheidet.
Etwas, das sich tatsächlich ablesen lässt
Ein Papierelement wird normalerweise entsorgt, ohne je untersucht zu werden, und beantwortet damit keine Fragen zur Luft, die die Maschine gezogen hat. Ein gewebtes Element gegen das Licht gehalten schon: eine gleichmäßige Fläche, ein Schatten auf einer Seite, Split am Rahmen. Das sind Informationen über die eigenen Straßen, und sie kosten nichts, weil das Teil hinterher wieder eingesetzt wird. Dasselbe Element bedient die gesamte Voge-Gruppe unter dieser Nummer, neun Modelle von 500 bis 625 cm³ – eine Garage mit zwei davon kommt so mit einer Routine statt zwei Teilenummern aus.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft, von der sauberen Seite nach außen, ist die Standardwartung für den CM251S. Haben Matsch oder eine gesalzene Straße mehr als Staub hinterlassen, wird er in lauwarmem Wasser mit mildem Reinigungsmittel gewaschen, klar gespült und an einem luftigen Ort vollständig getrocknet. Nie mit Hitze und nie mit offener Flamme trocknen, und anschließend niemals ölen – er wurde so konstruiert, dass er ganz ohne auskommt. Das Wartungsblatt liegt im Reiter „Downloads".
